Sankaran Kovil

In later part of 2015, took sometime off to visit Tenkasi and few places around it.
Sankaran Kovil is one such place visited, staying in Tenkasi...Somehow I like the place, its nearby Kutralam as well...just 5 KM from Tenkasi. Visiting Sankaran Kovil I was pleasantly surprised to know that it was a special festival day or some beginning of annual festival... It would always be nice to show the Yoga Asana and what are the benefits of doing it as it was shown in this temple..

Where are the grand parents?

Gone are the days when grand parents will set an example and tell us good moral values and spiritual values...These days the children's grandparents set a trend to demoralize and corrupt the established values of the country. Agreed we have a micro minority of people out trying to maintain all thats good, writer only feels that this micro minority should soon become majority.
Perhaps because husbands and mothers and mother in laws themselves have lost moral and ethical values to question the conduct of these women. We can see it in one of the advertisement of a foreign(they bring us those cultureless culture with their products) brand of chocolate where mother in law dances wild with daughter in law on the street and set a cultureless culture trend of the wild west.
I truly wonder how many of the grand parents in the present day school going children know Ramayana or Mahabharata to tell their grand children.
There were times when grandparents would comb the grand daughters and ask them to keep vibhuthi and kumkum...and jasmine flowers..Now these grand parents are going to 'Beauty Parlours' to cut their hairs or dye them or what not? Indulging in the new found wealth when country still sees the beggars begging on the roads...
There were times when one asks for food in the roadside the grand parents or parents would scold at us and advice children to come home and eat. Now I find the grand parent generation standing and munching in the roadside shop much to my surprise. Wonder then who could guide the children, if not grand parents better. Where are the grand parents?
We need them to better guide the children with Ramayana or Mahabharata or other numerous puranas that the country is blessed with. Agreed we have a micro minority of people out trying to maintain all thats good, writer only feels that this micro minority should soon become majority.

Where are the husbands?

After I posted on Where is குங்குமம் ? I started to ask myself, since its related to marriage or குங்குமம் actually refers to husband, if குங்குமம் is not seen in foreheads of Hindu married women whose husbands are alive, then where are their husbands? What on earth are they doing? Hiding somewhere, unable to question the ways and methods of their so called better halves who are on the path of doom?and bringing the society to doom. What are the husbands really doing. Is that husbands in the country have become too weak even to ask this? What the women should be doing on their own, not done...and neither husbands nor mothers or mother in laws are telling them. If this is the trend wonder what our future generation to do.
Also the same question of where are the husbands of these teachers, when Tamil Nadu Govt. issues circulars on indecent blouses?
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Tamil-Nadu-teachers-told-to-mind-their-blouses/articleshow/5345859.cms
I think its fair to say for all professions, not just teachers...although all professions start from school therefore teachers should be first educated on what is decent and indecent on 'blouses', to that extent society value has fallen and its not ready to accept, instead they will argue its 'freedom', thanks to their English education. It looks none is really concerned (or if there are, they are a micro minority) on all these exposures by these women?First to be concerned, where are the husbands?
http://www.kamakoti.org/tamil/7dk44.htm Posting an example as how MS Subbulakshmi dresscode and குங்குமம்...Are we ready to learn?
Could this be done?Husbands listening? Where are the husbands?
Wishing husbands of teachers first start correcting their wives, who are there in schools to teach for future generations to come in all professions, where are the husbands?

Are you in love with Black?Mourning?

Goddess of learning Saraswathi or Guru Dakshinamurthy are always associated with purity or white dress.
Black is the darkest color. It is the opposite of white The color black is considered the color of mourning in Western and Mediterranean countries; It is often worn by Shi'ite Muslims, who mourn the death of Husayn ibn Ali, killed at the Battle of Karbala In the Roman Empire, it became the color of mourning, and over the centuries it was frequently associated with death, evil, witches and magic
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black
Ancient Greeks, black was also the color of the underworld.... In the early Middle Ages, black was commonly associated with darkness and evil... Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, the founder of the Cistercians responded that black was the color of the devil, hell, "of death and sin," while white represented "purity, innocence and all the virtues".... In the late 19th century, black also became the color of anarchism. (See political movements.)..In the 20th century, black was the color of Italian and German fascism. (See political movements.)...
In the 1950s, black came to be a symbol of individuality and intellectual and social rebellion, the color of those who didn't accept established norms and values.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black
It is a perfect example of how a value can be changed over time...What once started as Negative...people change it positive over a period and justify.
http://psychiclibrary.com/beyondBooks/aura-colors-and-meanings/ http://in5d.com/how-to-read-auras-what-is-the-meaning-of-each-color/ Black Aura: Indicates hatred, negativity, major illness or depression, cheap, miserly. This color is always a bad sign. http://www.sanskritimagazine.com/indian-religions/hinduism/meaning-of-different-colours-in-hinduism/
Wonder what is waiting for future...when Govt. comes up to teach values in schools and universities and what in a rebellious mood reflecting Black Dress are out to teach...Perhaps to rebel the established VALUES? Perhaps its high time Govt starts seriously looking for programmes and degrees to first define what values that teachers SHOULD FIRST PRACTICE to set as models for students.
Without such serious definitions and discussions, it may be nothing but BLIND LEADING THE BLIND in schools and universities with so called value education.
We had already mourned the Flood Disaster...what are we preparing for, with colour of mourning now?
The three gunas mentioned in Bhagavad Gita, says white for Satvas, Red for Rajas and Black for Tamas.

National Flag why only Central Universities, start from schools.

Its good people begin to realise and introduce flying national flag FINALLY...but WHY only Central Universities? It should be started from schools, ALL SCHOOLS.
Am trying to go to the root of all these discussions...when a FOREIGN MEDIUM is used to teach HISTORY/SCIENCE/MATHS wonder how patriotism will taken forward?'Evil' as Mahatma Gandhi said shows its potent in many places.
http://indianexpress.com/article/india/india-news-india/hrd-ministry-national-flag-central-universities/
To offer new and innovative courses including inter-faith studies, citizenship and value education, farming technology and new media and youth.
Medium of instruction to be in English and an Indian language, preferably that of the state the university is situated in.
"I find daily proof of the increasing & continuing wrong being done to the millions by our false de-Indianizing education...Among the many evils of foreign rule, this blighting imposition of a foreign medium upon the youth of the country will be counted by history as one of the greatest.I would not wait for the preparation of Text books. They will follow the change. It is an evil that need a summary remedy." http://www.gandhi-manibhavan.org/gandhiphilosophy/philosophy_education_aspergandhi.htm
Once the great scientist, Niels Bohr, was delivering a lecture. Bose presided. At one stage the lecturer had some difficulty in explaining a point. He had been writing on the blackboard; he stopped and, turning to Bose, said, “Can Professor Bose help me?” All the while Satyendranath had been sitting with his eyes shut. The audience could not help smiling at Professor Bohr’s words. But to their great surprise, Bose opened his eyes; in an instant he solved the lecturer’s difficulty. Then he sat down and once again closed his eyes! He was one of those champions who fought for the introduction of the mother tongue as the medium of instruction....

Former President A P J Abdul Kalam has said that science education should be imparted to children in vernacular languages to bring creativity and enable easy grasp of the subject.

Most of the Chandrayaan-I team members had their basic education in their mother tongue.Mylswamy Annadurai, Programme Director, Indian Remote Sensing (IRS) at ISRO, reiterated that mother tongue should be the medium of instruction when it comes to basic education, since this formed the base for original thinking.

http://www.businesstoday.in/magazine/corporate/seiko-epson-differentiates-itself-in-its-core-market-from-competitors-says-minoru-usui/story/225500.html
Please click this above link to see Epson Global President from Japan, having Kumkum in his forehead for HE is in India...BUT Thanks to English education here women gave up it long back to replace with 'kumkum like stickers' and now not even stickers....Gone are the days reading about widows fighting 'birth rights' for kumkum, now whether husband alive or not, bye bye to kumkum and its values...

What is Swaraj?

Countries like UK, Nepal, Bhutan, Japan or other countries still (for name sake at least if not really in power, have Royal families). What about India? English rulers who made sure to remove the Royals in their colonies also made sure to keep their own Royals(even if stripped of powers). This is because they knew that Royal connections for a country is very important. But we are educated to believe Democrazy is better. I had a student from 9th std. who mentioned, as his dream India where Monarchy will replace Democrazy. When I pressed him to say why he wants monarchy, reply was, its easier to do any corrections in Monarchy but in Democrazy there are too many levels of corruption and very difficult to correct the system. How true. I wonder how many thinks like him. Here is another thought from Kanchi MahaSwamigal on what is Swaraj?
http://www.kamakoti.org/tamil/part1kural62.htm Its not just in Politics of power, but think in terms of places of worship? When we have temples in every town, there are other faiths which make sure to make a trip to one particular place of pilgrimage or place of worship, like how English rulers destroyed Royals in colonies but preserved their own Royals. Temples or Houses of God built on Stones faced the same in history, being preserved in one country and asked followers to make a pilgrimage there while in places of followers temples were destroyed.
Democrazy is just the opposite of this concept from அவ்வையார்.

Children National Bravery Awards, where are the lists?

Every year since 1957 Govt. of India is recognizing children of ages 6 to 18 when they do an act of bravery to save someone's life. But do we have a database of complete information on those acts of bravery? Do we have our press or media reporting all these acts?or even now in the age of internet, do we have a Govt. website which tells us all such details which could be inspiring to all children as they are growing up. Such information if available will help children to get inspiration. Am sharing this as I read below
In 2012, Om Prakash was awarded with Indian Council for Child Welfare National Bravery Award-2011 by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Then President of India, Pratibha Patel, too, had given him a certificate stating: “The Nation is proud of you”. Om Prakash had then got Rs 1 lakh from the President and Rs 40,000 by the Prime Minister - the money was mostly spent on his medication.
