Alert on Michael Porter meeting Prime Minister and its implications

15 years before as a student of Science, Technology and Society course, I happened to read Michael Porter's Competitive Advantage of Nations and below lines made a mark in my mind to now share it with you all....as few days back Michael Porter met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Prime Minister Narendra Modi "RT @narendramodi: Had a very insightful meeting with Prof. Michael Porter, a leading strategic thinker and economist."

Michael Porter is an economic influential individual whose observation just matches well with our much misinterpreted and therefore much hated CASTE system, which is correctly interpreted as Security for the society in Swedish school subject of "Religious education".

How am I relating Israel's competitive advantage of Agriculture/Defense to Caste?

Simple, these are the two areas of the 4 caste we call as

Farmers or Shudras(Agriculture) Warriors or Shatriyas(Defense) Tradesmen or Vaishyas Priests or Brahmins

We now see that Israel maintained their first two while Business or Priests has not been given importance as much as Agriculture and Defence....

A country or Society which takes care of all these 4 divisions as equally important,is the ideal society or country. And that was how India was when world was struggling its way to find a way to India....

This is what Swami Vivekananda mentioned what the west is struggling to achieve, India achieved perfection in it thousands of years ago.This is my understanding of Swamiji in this quote. Not just Swami Vivekananda, here are the words of Mahakavi Bharathiyar to support the same line of truth....

நாலு வகுப்பும்இங் கொன்றே; - இந்த

நான்கினில் ஒன்று குறைந்தால்

வேலை தவறிச் சிதைந்தே - செத்து

வீழ்ந்திடும் மானிடச் சாதி

But it seems Michael Porter once again proving he is yet another, western economic/social scientist with these lines..."The next transformation of business thinking lies in the principle of shared value: creating economic value in a way that also creates value for society by addressing its needs and challenges....Shared value is not corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, or even sustainability, but a new way to achieve economic success". http://www.isc.hbs.edu/creating-shared-value/Pages/default.aspx This approach of achieving economic success is the key word which proves him yet another western economic scientist who will fail with his short term solutions, leaving out the disease as it is after temporary relief.I just pray, that Prime Minister is advised by someone in the country to be aware of these....

Let me conclude with his own words as caution to Indian economists who need to get SELF RELIANCE lessons from ISRO scientists,'Nations export their values and tastes, through media, through training foreigners, through political influence, and through the foreign activities of their citizens and companies'. I wonder if meeting of Michael Porter with Prime Minister is an example of exporting, failed America's values and tastes through political influence to India? Let us be alert that we do not import any countries values or tastes but remain as the country that sets itself high values like treating the world one family, as Vasudeva Kutumbakam.

Uttharakosamangai temple உத்தரகோச மங்கை கோவில்

In 2015, I visited the much desired UttharakosaMangai near Ramnathapuram. The temple's attachment and special significance with the life of Manikkavasagar is known to many. So when I visited, it was a long waited dream coming true. Temple was great, but I was saddened by the condition as how it is now lacking maintenance and even devotees coming there were less. When I asked the only priest who was there at he said if buses are arranged frequently then it might have more people connecting Rameshwaram temple with this one...But without the roofs and no lamps the temple was showing the sorry state of affairs as we see today with drought and floods of Chennai 2015...wonder what more waits the people of Tamil Nadu for not properly taking care of this important Siva Temple. Wish people or Govt or Spiritual Organisation come together to build and maintain this historically important Siva temple.
