As someone working with value education with children and young ones...I have always felt bad looking at the indulgences shown in TV ads...

If companies are making money in any ways...should the popular elderly couple loose their sense of values and ethics? I begin to relate to the example I share with many students while interact with those young ones...about Mother Teresa and the young boy who saved sugar to share with the poor children without sugar. Here the companies are targeting the elderly couples...to INDULGE with the money when the situation for the poor remains the same...with millions in the country struggling for food, clothes and a place to sleep. Felt that elderly couple can immediately seek apology for appearing in such INDULGING sense of money, instead for helping the poor....Will their consciousness allow?

In contrast, appealing to an older age-group willing to pay more is definitely a more attractive one. The Vodafone campaign will likely appeal most to upper-middle class households in urban areas

Traditional values in every sense in India is under attack...Sad the Traditional elderly couple known for Traditional dance from India plays such anti-traditional roles in not only the message but even in costumes and all...Can anyone imagine MS Subbulakshmi playing such advt? NEVER.

There is another English company for chocolates again showing anti traditional roles of mother in law and daughter in law dancing on the road after having the chocolate...Perfect examples as how The English wants us to loose our traditional values through such advt. Wish elderly couple seek apology if they can understand the agenda of companies not just for economics but also for ethics and values...

Swachh Bharath - Chennai Coporation's help needed

Again after few weeks, today part of Swachh Bharat initiative of Sri Ramakrishna Mission, Mylapore. They are doing every Sundays.

Today it was in Ramakrishna Mission, Free Tuition Centre, at Ramakrishnapuram, Mylapore. Many of the volunteers were children...Thanks to PS Matriculation School, Awakened Citizen Program,(ACP) trained teacher Ms Koteeswari...She came along with students from her school. School has been doing their part on Swachh Bharat,as the Principal is very committed to these initiatives just as she is interested with ACP.

Many students represented nearby schools from Mylapore...Today there were students from PS Hr, Santhome Hr among other schools...

Seen here a boy removing the poster pasted like in many public walls, bridges, parks, buses. I wish that Chennai Corporation can bring strict laws to punish those who past posters and litter the Chennai city. Though these volunteers are nice to do work, is it not wrong on the part of Chennai corporation not taking enough steps/initiative to get rid of this menace of poster culture?

உண்மையான கல்வி என்பது ஆத்மஞானம் அடைய உதவுவதேயாகும். ஆத்ம ஞானத்தாலேயே மக்கள் அமரத்துவம் அடைகிறார்கள். எதற்கு மேலாக ஒரு பயன் உலகில் இல்லையோ அந்தப் பயனை உண்மைக் கல்வி அளிக்கிறது. மற்ற விதமான கல்விப் பயிற்சிகளெல்லாம் உலகப் பயன்களைத்தான் அளிக்கின்றன. ஆனாலும் அவையும் படிப்படியாகப் பரமாத்மாவை சேர உபயோகப்படலாம். உலகப் பயன் என்பது பொதுவாகப் பொருள் திரட்டுவதையே குறிக்கின்றது. பொருள்கூட பலவித தருமங்களை செய்யப் பயன்படுகிறது. லௌகிக தருமங்களும் பிரம்ம ஞானத்துக்குத் சாதகமாகின்றன. ‘தனக்கு விதிக்கப்பட்ட கர்மங்களைச் சரிவர நடத்துவதாலும், தவத்தினாலும், இறைவனை வணங்கி வழிபடுவதாலும் ஒருவன் ஆத்ம ஞானத்தை அடைகிறான்’ என ஆதி ஆசாரியர்கள் கூறியுள்ளார்கள்.

நம் புலன்களுக்கு மட்டுமே சுக உணர்ச்சியையும், மகிழ்ச்சியையும் எளிதில் தரக்கூடிய வகையில் உள்ள எல்லா அம்சங்களையும் போதனா முறையிலிருந்து விலக்கவேண்டும். மேலை நாட்டவரின் நடை, உடை, பாவனை, உணவு, உரையாடல் முதலியவைகளில் ஈடுபட்டு அவைகளைக் கையாளுவோமேயானால் படிப்படியாக நமது பண்பாடு, அறம் இவைகளிலிருந்து நாம் நழுவி, நமது ஆன்ம நலனுக்கு இடையூறு செய்துகொள்வதோடு, புண்ணிய பூமியாகிய இந்தப் பாரத நாட்டுக்கே கெடுதல் ஏற்படுத்தி விடுவோம்.

பாரத நாட்டில் தற்காலம் நமது மக்கள் பெரும்பாலும் சிறு பிராயம் முதலே தம் தேசத்துக்குரிய ஒழுக்கம், பண்பாடு, இறைவணக்கம், ஆத்ம தியானம், இவ்விதமான பழக்கமே இல்லாமலிருந்து வருகின்றனர். விஞ்ஞானத்தைப் பயில்வதில் மட்டுமின்றி வாழ்முறையிலும்கூட வெளிநாட்டாரது முறைகளையே பின்பற்றி வருகின்றனர். இதனால் மக்களுக்கு இந்த உலகத்தின் சாமானிய இன்பத்தையும் மறு உலகத்தின் பேரின்ப வழியையும் அடையத் தடை ஏற்படுகின்றதென்பது தெளிவு. ஆஸ்திகப் பரம்பரையில் தோன்றிய நமது குழந்தைகளுக்குச் சிறு வயது முதலே நமது பண்புக்குரிய தர்மம், ஒழுக்கம், பக்தி, ஞானம் முதலியவற்றைக் கடைப்பிடித்து ஒழுகுவதற்கு அநுகூலமான கல்வியைப் போதிக்க வேண்டியதே நம் முதற் கடமை.

Got the attached photo in facebook...it could actually be replaced by any politician irrespective of party...or even the chief minister whose bill was 100 crores?

Will the Prime Minister/Chief Minister/President/MLA/MP of the country send their children/grandchildren to Govt Schools? or Get treated in Govt Hospitals when they fall sick? For these people say they improve Education/Health of the country. Then let them prove it.

Neither these people will do that, nor will there be such a law by the country law makers...because all these are together make people fools...in the name of democracy and justice for all....forgetting how this country was once ruled by Royals.

Sharing with you all today morning Uzhavaaram with Sri Ramakrishna Mission volunteers @ Sri Virupakiswarar Temple, Mylapore...Happened to talk to these little boys who did an excellent work in the morning. As I remember, schools represented PS Hr Sec and PS Matric and Chennai Middle School, near Mandaveli. Wish and Hope school students/teachers in Mylapore joins this weekly initiative even if minimum 5 students and even teachers from each school around Mylapore joins the hands, the impact will be wonderful both for the children and for the service.

First Principals to be appointed through common entrance test across the country

Today I met two Principals of schools in Chennai whose school sent teachers for training in Awakened Citizen Program in 2016 and then not very active this year. When I went in person to find out for the 2nd time. One Principal avoids me to meet and even avoids face to face seeing me. Tells through another teacher that she is very busy. In the other school, Principal makes me stand without offering a seat to sit for couple of minutes, and then without showing interest to listen about the program, calls the coordinator and then both together say that their teachers are too busy to do classes.

What went in my mind? If Principals shows lack of interest for values, then how can teachers have values or how can students have any values?

Setting bad examples in dress code it is no surprise they show lack of interest for value education for their students.

When we debate and protest a common National test or NEET for medical seat. First I felt, we need to reform our education in employing Principals through a National Eligibility test, like Kendriya Vidyalaya how they conduct to employ someone as Principal. Let it be same test and salary be same...Then we bring the same uniformity for employing teachers across the country through common test as eligibility for teaching and pay same salary and have same syllabus in schools. Then we can think of NEET which is certainly needed.

Nice entertainment. Is there any activist who is raising these questions? After all its, ENGLISH CRICKET and more important ENTERTAINMENT...who cares about those in the street.

Well here are some Domestic people working for International Players League to play... they get the pitch ready...see the dedication...even if they have nothing to warm themselves in cold weather and climate, they want to warm the pitch....and look at the domestic women working out the hard physical work..they are not wearing any hifunda western dress, but tucked in saree covering their bodies well, not like the English speaking office going women who wants to say its much easier to wear western dress as work involves fast walk and its more comfortable...these women neither knows to speak English nor will they say they want comfortable dress...all they want is some money from a society/Govt which is craving for ENTERTAINMENT and so they suck the blood of these DOMESTIC people...Well why talk of these..."Are you entertained, Is this not why you are here?" Who care about destruction whether its Roman empire or right now our own society?

ஆலயங்களையும் ஆண்டவனையும் இப்போது பள்ளி,கல்லூரிக் கல்வியில் தேட வேண்டி இருக்கிறது. மத சார்பற்ற கல்வியின் பயனா எல்லா மதங்களையும் கல்வி சாலையில் இருந்து துரத்தி விட்டோம். இதன் விபரீத பலனை தான் நாம் மாணவர்களின் நடத்தையிலும் மக்களின் போக்கிலும் நன்றாகவே பார்க்க முடிகின்றது. இப்போது ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் செல்வோம்.நம் முன்னோர்களின் வாழ்வில் கல்வி, கலை, ஆண்டவன், ஆலயம், இசை, பண்பாடு இவை எல்லாம் எவ்வாறு சிறப்புற்று விளங்கின என்பதை பார்ப்போம்...அதன் காரணத்தையும் திறந்த மனத்துடன் சற்று சிந்திப்போம்.

ஏறக்குறைய ஆயிரம் வருஷத்துக்கு முந்தி பல்லவ பாண்டியர்களுக்கு மேலாகப் பிற்காலச் சோழர்கள் எனப்படுபவர்களின் ஆதிக்கம் பரவிற்று. விஜயாலயன் என்பவன் இப்படி மறுபடி சோழர்களுக்குப் புது எழுச்சி தந்த பிற்பாடுதான் பராந்தகன், ராஜராஜன், ராஜேந்திரன் முதலானோர் அவன் வம்சத்திலே வந்து சோழ ஸாம்ராஜ்யத்தைப் பரப்பினார்கள். ஸாம்ராஜ்யம் என்று நீள அகலங்களில் அது பெருகியதைவிட அதிலே கலாசாரம் அதி உன்னதமாகப் பரவியதுதான் அதிகப் பெருமை. பல்லவர் காலத்தில் சிறிய அளவிலும், நடுத்தர அளவிலும் மட்டுமே கட்டப்பட்ட ஆலயங்கள் பெரிய அளவில் விஸ்தாரமாக்கப்பட்டது இந்தப் பீரியடில்தான். இதே ஸமயத்தில் கல்வி - கேள்வி, ஸாஹித்யம், ஸங்கீதம், நர்த்தனம் எல்லாமும் வ்ருத்தியாயின. இதிலே அழகு என்னவென்றால் ஆலயம் பாட்டுக்கு ஒரு பக்கத்தில் வ்ருத்தியாச்சு, கலாசாரம் இன்னொரு பக்கத்தில் அதுபாட்டுக்கு வ்ருத்தியாச்சு, என்றில்லாமல் ஆண்டவனை மையமாக வைத்தே - ஸ்தூலமாக ஆலயத்தைக் கேந்திரமாக வைத்தே - கல்வி, கலாசாரங்களும் வளர்ந்தன.

Ramakrishna Vidyashala Mysore - An Example to duplicate

Couple of weeks back I was in this wonderful institution which I have read and heard of. Visiting the school and its infrastructure and meeting students and teachers there, made all the difference of wishing why such institutions can not be duplicated in many other cities by Ramakrishna Mission?

I do not know if there is better institutions run by Ramakrishna Mission, but I felt this one with fully residential school with sports including swimming and other music/bhajans and meditation/etc makes it to look upon as the modern Gurukula system.

It would be much better if all teachers are also residential and live with students within the same campus. I even went in one of the class where the shelf was neatly arranged with students notebooks and workbooks. I was there after the school hours and none was there to see that I am seeing their class room. Class room was very neat and clean. Board wiped out and clean.

The whole campus was an inspiration which makes one to think of only learning skills...be it in sports or music and even helping in kitchen or serving food to fellow students or guests... Everyone washing their own plates and eating after saying the prayers...and a regular time to sleep and wake up. Later I listened to one proud alumnus of this great institution who said what he is today is because of this institution. He is the honorary secretary of Seshadri Puram group of educational institutions in Bangalore. Wish we have many people coming forward to have such wonderful institution duplicated in other cities for the benefit of society.
