அக்னியில் அடங்கிய அவதார புருஷர்கள் under this title in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் vol 1 காஞ்சி மகாஸ்வாமிகள் tells how the Agni worshipping religion as Zoroastrian religion took off from Saurashtra part of Gujarat-India (Vedas) roots. Igni of Latin is from Agni, meaning to say Agni worshiping was practiced all over the world and we are born in this religion which is practiced world eternally and will continue eternally.
While the mother religion lives eternally the child religions keep sending refugees to the same part from where the prophets went. It is everyone’s duty to strengthen the Mother religion if we really care for human survival.

Long back before reading தெய்வத்தின் குரல் , When I came to know on the hell/heaven, judgment day concepts of middle east religions(Jewish, Christianity, Islam)…I was wondering at its roots…Could not find and was wondering, but when I read on Zoroastrian religion from one Boyce Mary the missing link found its answer. For the middle east religions of monotheism as they call can be traced to Zarathushtra’s ideas/teachings?

But since all the roots of all religions will be coming to 'Mother of Religions as Swami Vivekanand said in Chicago 1893 11th September'. These religions have their roots in Hinduism or religions of Vedas.

Boyce Mary herself shows the link of Zoroastrian religion to Vedas in her writing, linking Brahmin’s white thread ‘kusthi’ or girdle…along with numerous other areas like Devas or Agni,Yazna or other names…

When I read on the way Zorostrians dispose the dead, it was strange and was wondering at its origin, for they dispose the dead in open air for animals(now in a high rise towers for birds to eat?)

Again In தெய்வத்தின் குரல் I read on Sanniyasin’s body is also left to animals be eaten..

Thus Zoroastrian religion made the Brahmin’s பூணூல் for all males in its religion. Same way it applied Sanniyasin’s body disposal practice to all its followers.

Thus we can find the roots of religions to Hinduism but making the practices in wrong place or manner and that’s why those religions are compared as creepers growing on the palm tree of Hinduism தெய்வத்தின் குரல் gives the best and solid proofs on these and more including the Zend Avesta roots..And what makes Hinduism as palm tree is also mentioned in Deivathin Kural as caste system which is not in other child religions which grows and die fast.

Thirukoneswarar

Returned from Thirukoneswaram temple or Trincomalee. This is the second most important temple as I guess after Kathirgamam. The temple is sung by Indian saints as Sundarar and Thiru Gnanasambanthar.
I also found the temple showing அருணகிரிநாதர் திருப்புகழ் .
After nearly a 7hrs of bus drive from Colombo reached Kannya, Sri Lanka's hot wells.
There are 7 hot wells and with different temperatures each..(I could hardly say the difference though I felt between one or two) and they are all located closely.Took a bath/wash(no soap allowed) and straight went to காளி அம்மன் temple but it was closed by 7 I guess. So after dinner went to Thirukoneswarar where the stage was just getting ready as there was a TV crew to Telecast Sivarathiri live to Sri Lankan people who owns(or knows someone who owns a TV).
I went inside temple and though not a big temple, it did attract a special invitation....it is sad to note that Portual colonizers plundered the earlier and much larger temple and used the stones to build their fort which still to this day stands(in fact one enters through the archway of the fort built in 1623, if I am right)...
Now I guess Even during the pujas, priest first does pujas in a place which is believed to be the spot where earlier/original Linga must have been in place before Portual destruction?...(whether Portual colonizers later learn lessons or not, the later colonizers from English definitely learnt, that by no harsh means, colonial powers can ever succeed and they gave lot of religious freedom...and we should know who is to civilize and whom? when looking at the blunders of serious failures of the past colonials ones from the earliest sea voyages of Portugal, Spain, Dutch, French and finally English, or are we missing anyone?...more of this in Deivathin Kural)

திருக்குறள் Thirukkural is mentioned by Kanchi Swamigal as Tamil Vedam...meaning its such a great work...and he says in another place Tamil language is great as Sanskrit because it has திருக்குறள் ...

He also mentions on how to keep Gurukulam active which shall be the only way to give the real Indian education as it really meant...Hope some rich Indians will do some contributions.

Continuing with yesterday's positing, Kanchi Mahaswamigal also questions how women working besides causing problems of child growing without proper love(please no excuse just as he says on western society, one who has lived there knows it better)...and he painfully says how our society is also inviting such blunders by woman not taking care of children...(bcos of work)...besides this he questions how the same jobs could be instead given to men who are unemployed and seeking a job...
In above he charges again on Brahmin community for increasing their desire for more money has extended not merely to get married but also even after marriage how they want more money and husband send wife to get money and thereby declining the love the baby/child needs and causing a society like that of west...well we are all part of this blunder and we all have to pay the price...the old age homes are not accidents...but our own results of blunders...of ignoring Kanchi Mahaswamigal words...will the society listen now? we have no choice if we really care for future generation....

This is again a reminder on what Bhagavad Gita had mentioned on Caste as the system do duty as division of work for social security and not for any narrow exploitation.
It is Bharathy again says ஜாதிகள் இல்லையடி பாபா , immediately he follows it with குல தாழ்ச்சி உயர்ச்சி சொல்லல் பாவம் .

This is another wonderful lines that I like to quote, from Bharathy...for here he says clearly that God gave wisdom to women, but people on Earth spoilt the women's wisdom....(I don't think Bharathy will be supporting today's so called women's freedom cause imitating western freedom, when he had long back seen the western so called freedom and sung these lines..ie in the name of women freedom, people on earth have spoilt the God given wisdom to women....anyone listening?)

Summa iru சும்மா இரு – Just Be or Be Still

Arunagirinathar blessed by Murugan was instructed as ‘சொல்லற சும்மா இரு ’ or ‘Just Be’ or ‘Be still’ or ‘Be without thoughts’. The Summa iru is used in many places in spiritual instruction by many sages and holy men across the world irrespective of what religion they belong to or perhaps they are beyond any religious differences.
Thayumanavar in his songs, also touches this summa irruthal and says it’s the most difficult thing to achieve and compares to tame a lion is more easier and even to get all 8 Yogic siddhis are easy compared to சும்மா இருத்தல் . (On this Kanchi Mahaswamigal explanation in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் is wonderful.)
In Talks with Ramana Maharishi one could see this getting reference to Biblical statement of ‘Be still’ and know ‘I am that I am’. This ‘Be still’ or ‘Just Be’ as summa iru is mentioned by YogaSwamigal as ‘Summa irrutthal’. Yoga Swami says this Summa irutthal to let the inner guide to be heard from மௌனம் (silence).
In Words of our Master as compiled by Yogaswami’s disciples, I was surprised to see when I did a ctrl F to search for Summa and found in below places Yogaswami uses summa in his instructions.
1. As a dog, let loose after being tied up for some time, is energetic and active, so one, who learns to remain summa, gets increased energy which can be put to good use.
2. Even meditation is work. Practise remaining summa for ten minutes.
3. Without remaining summa, the mind is running here and there. That is its nature. What does that matter?
4. Remaining summa is the best exercise.
5. Learn to remain summa. If you try to stop, it will only become more active. It is not necessary to stop it. You must ask it - "Where are you going?" But see that you do not leave your seat.
6. Now we don't control the mind. We remain summa with a controlled mind.
7. The atma is summa. Movement is for the body and mind.
8. The secret of 'summa iru ' is you. The secret of 'summa iru ' is I. The secret of ' summa iru ' is all.
9. If you remain summa (i.e. idle) without working, the mind will become impure. But the summa of jnanis is different.
10. Because he (another devotee) is unable to remain summa, he is walking to Kataragama.
11. You are Siva. I am Siva. All are Siva. Remaining summa is also Siva.
12. He (another devotee) is wandering about here and there without knowing the secret of how to remain summa. The message we can give to him is: "There is no 'you,' no 'I'.”
13. Bliss will come, if you remain summa. Why then do you want this illusory world?
14. If you remain summa, the sound of voices outside will not reach you. When you come down, you can see the world.
15. You sing and learn, because you are unable to remain summa.
16. It is not necessary to break your head over building temples and schools. You can experience bliss by remaining summa, like the top which finally comes to rest after spinning round and round. The top will go on spinning as long as the force is there.
17. Remain summa for the sake of all!
18. There is nothing to know. Remain summa.
19. Those who remain summa are the real benefactors of humanity.

Best Social Reformation or Service

Making Brahmins to chant Vedas and getting them off from other professions is the best social reform that should happen says Kanchi Mahaswamigal in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் .

In Bhagavad Gita this was mentioned more than 5000 years ago, as its better to do own’s own Dharma even if one is unskilled than to do someone’s Dharma even if one does it skillfully.

If one asks why, in Bhagavad Gita’s early chapters, its mentioned, how a society gets spoiled. It begins with adharma spreading, women losing chaste, they marry men from other dharma. Mixing of caste is the path to hell. Now what causes adharma to spread can be the next question, and it can be answered, when Dharma is not followed it leads to Adharma’s path to hell. Follow the path of Dharma as mentioned in Vedas and save your self and society in which you live.

Without knowing this truth, our ignorant lots wants to talk of caste mixing and inter caste marriage and goes to the extent of saying caste should be removed.

People should instead ask, is there no social evils in countries where there is no caste as it’s said in Hindu religion?

‘Give a bad name to dog and hang it’, as the saying in English goes, people want to give a bad name to Hindu caste system and want to hang it. This is how Kanchi MahaSwamigal explains on how English master minded on hanging Hindu caste system to divide and exploit Hindu’s strength.

Tell me, why is the media here so negative? Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognise our own strengths, our achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why? We are the second largest producer of wheat in the world. We are the second largest producer of rice. We are the first in milk production. We are number one in remote sensing satellites.
Look at Dr Sudarshan. He has transformed the tribal village into a self sustaining, self driving unit. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed with bad news and failures and disasters.

I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading this Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had this picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert land into an orchard and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside the newspaper, buried among other news.
In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime. Why are we so negative?

I find daily proof of the increasing & continuing wrong being done to the millions by our false de-Indianizing education.
Education through a foreign Language entails a certain degree of strain, and our boys have to pay dearly for it.
We, the English educated people alone are unable to assess the great loss that this factor has caused.
The canker has so eaten into the society that in many cases the only meaning of education is Knowledge of English. All these are for me signs of our slavery and degradation.
The foreign medium has made our children practically foreigners in their own lands. It is the greatest tragedy of the existing system.

If I had the powers of a despot, I would today stop the tuitions of our boys and girls through a foreign medium and require all the teachers and professors on pain of dismissal to introduce the change forthwith. I would not wait for the preparation of Text books. They will follow the change. It is an evil that need a summary remedy.

Among the many evils of foreign rule, this blighting imposition of a foreign medium upon the youth of the country will be counted by history as one of the greatest. It has sapped the energy of the nation, it has estranged them for the masses, it has made education unnecessarily expensive. If this process is still persisted in, it bids fair to rob the nation of its soul. The sooner, therefore educated India shakes itself free from the hypnotic spell of the foreign medium, the better it would be for them and the people.

If anyone thinks English has given jobs and economic booms, please check on how Japan within a short period or Germany or Sweden or any Scandinavian country or Taiwan, Korea all got what you may call development. We have only been made to depend on English all these years and all failures of English are bound to come to us if we follow English.

Kanchi Mahaswamigal again in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் reminds on the true Indian education instead of what we now have a borrowed education from the past colonial masters, customized to India. He also make a dig at the Nehru’s remark on Kitchen religion, and says yes our religion is Kitchen religion to mean, what we eat influence our mind and our spiritual life and therefore cooking be also part of education. Again in Sweden cooking is part of school education, a compulsory one.

Yoga Swamigal of Nallur – His Natchinthanai

Sri Lanka is definitely a blessed land to have Yoga Swami. The sage from Nallur has given நற்சிந்தனை (Good thoughts) a collection of prayer songs which he composed and made his devotees who came to him to sing.

In நற்சிந்தனை there is an appeal from Yogaswami to contribute 3 Rupees per year (it must be before 1950s) to do சிவதொண்டு . How many are aware of this? And how many make a contribution to do சிவதொண்டு ? Each and every Sri Lankan should think on these lines when they spend on their birthday parties or marriage parties or numerous other parties which they have invented out of the British ‘educational qualification’ they want to parade proudly . In this connection could remember how when a devotee introduced his daughter who came after completing M.A from an Indian (of another British system) University, Yogaswami had said I will give another letter for your studies which you can have and added D to her degrees(MAD).

In another song in நற்சிந்தனை, Yogaswami also says not to see any difference as Tamil or Sinhalese and also not to fight. Did Tamils and Sinhalese ever know of these lines? Instead they have lost thousands of lives and is there any effort to translate Natchinthanai to Sinhala? Even though the English have done much damage, they have learnt greatness of Yogaswami and Natchinthanai and there is a translation of many of Natchinthanai in English. Bharathiyar lines when he says, if there are great works of lines in any language it should be translated to Tamil and any greatworks in Tamil should be translated to other languages should be followed for Natchinthanai. Can not think of anything better than Natchinthanai produced from Sri Lanka. This should be translated to Sinhala and people should also translate Natchinthanai in action with many centers across Sri Lanka if people really want to live in peace.

Few years back as a student of Science, Technology and Society there was a professor who in one session gave an example(very proudly) on how a single machine in colonial times the British were able to produce what it took many hundreds or thousands of Indian laborers to produce the same.
I immediately put the question, is this an example of ‘creative destruction’ a term which was taught in another session of STS studies. The professor took a pause before shooting another question to me instead of answering my question. He shot back asking, Is this how you want to look at this?
I did not want to give an answer and kept quite, for that was not what I expected as an answer from professor. Had he been sincere, he would have accepted and acknowledge yes that’s another way how we exploit other countries where we sell our science/tech and make money.
I don’t think one should be a student of economics or STS to be aware of this, when watching பாண்டவர் பூமி , the mother played by மனோரமா tells the same point when her villagers are happy seeing the tractor ploughing the field, asks ‘will these people be happy if they know that this machine is going to take away their jobs?’.
Thus science, technology’s marriage with economics has brought its own price which still our English educated brains fails to accept/acknowledge.

Now will the Hindus caste system which is described in Swedish school books as
Security and gives determined roles be understood as the best social security any society could get or will it continue to be taught under English hypnotic brains as social evil which should be removed?

Charity shows – A Hippocratic society on the growth?

Read on ‘English’ magazine, how the once Great ‘Bretainians’ organized charity shows for helping Swedish people. The writer was actually trying to talk of charity shows for the African poor and was recalling how the ‘English’ had done once to help the then poor Swedish people. Today the same once ‘Great’ Bretainians are learning from Swedish ‘school’ education system among others.

Now when I read on the former ‘slaves’ of the Great Breatainian countries how they want to organize the charity shows for helping poor/sick/orphans, etc it just makes me sad how these former slaves are still mental slaves of their rulers even now.

As long as these former slaves maintain their old colonialists education system, the people coming out of such system will always take pride and honor in showing their

Now do we need such a suffering people to be given money by charity shows? Is not our hearts bleeding when one hears about it? Do we need comedy and actors and other ‘entertainment’ to part away our ‘excess’ money?

Can’t we be generous to give our excess money without these so called charity shows in the name of ‘entertainment’?

If charity shows are conducted for fund raising to renovate an old temple or a temple tank or to protect cows (even this does not fit in since its again another life, but can add since our society is now using human lives suffering for their charity shows) which needs renovation, then it’s a different matter…but to raise funds for suffering of another human as a reason to do charity shows is nothing but a sign of ‘English’ hypocrisy that’s getting its fruits out of the English education maintained in the slave colonies.

In the same note, it’s another English hypocrisy to send old/used clothes and other stuffs (including things which are hazardous in their own country and can not be dumped and so they send it across the so called poor countries under the name of ‘help/charity/gift/etc’) to the poor countries. Will the rich people of the poor countries be generous to share what they have with their own country poor?

Once again like to remind the readers what Swami Vivekananda said more than 100 years ago,’ Open your eyes and see what a piteous cry for food is rising in the land of Bharata, proverbial for its wealth! Will your education fulfill this want? Never.’

Life around the temple

கோவில் இல்லா ஊரில் குடியிருக்க வேண்டாம் .
Town without a temple, do not live there. A proverb in தமிழ் – This should be interpreted to mean our life should be centered around temple and not build a temple to make it a secondary leisure place while we have other works as primary. This is how I notice about new temples mushrooming in other parts of world, when back home many temples of old kings are left to ruin which could be renovated and well maintained.

Temple life is all about employment which provides the best social security.
Sculptors and builders – including dharma சத்திரம் /temple தேர் /வாஹனம் and temple water tanks both for temple festivals and as drinking/living places for animals
Music and Dance – Vocal and instruments (besides vocalists or instrumentalists, people who make instruments)
Bell and other metal instruments makers make a living.
Pottery makers for pots or any clay based items including lamps.
Cow protection with milk, ghee, curd and other dairy products and cow’s urine and dung as disinfectants/medicines
Horticulture with flowers and garlands
Agriculture – Rice, Fruits and Vegetables as prasadams and annadanams including coconuts.
Cloth industry – for gods and decorations including temple festivals, umbrellas and other needs.
Jewel industry - for gods ornament making
And the other numerous works associated with a temple and its festivals are giving employment in ‘Determined castes’ one does it with honour accepting as one’s holy duty(dharma) instead of thinking high or low and without giving rooms for exploitation or making fun of. Bhagavad Gita warns, it’s better to die doing one’s own duty even if one is unskilled in it than doing someone else’s duty.

Under cow protection
Besides the temples which have recently taken up cow protection in many places in தமிழ் நாடு and other states in India, Hostels in schools and colleges should have a separate place to rear and protect cows. It should be part of hostel inmates to look after cows. Besides getting the cow’s milk we will give children duty towards protecting cows. The children may belong to any religion, but protecting cows can be a good ethics which no true religious parents can deny.
The cow dung is an anti pollutant and protects from harmful radiations and there are many other numerous benefits to this if done. A country can be judged by the way it maintains and protects the cows, says Kanchi Mahaswamigal. More of this is mentioned in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் vol 7.

Songs of Kabir to unite all hearts

When Kabir was young he wanted Ramanand as his Guru, but since Kabir was a Muslim by birth (or brought up by Muslim parents), he was not sure how he will be accepted, so he laid on the steps of Ganga on the path way one early morning. Ramanand stepped on Kabir’s body and felt it’s on someone he had stepped, he says, ‘Ram Ram’ . Kabir took this as his Guru Upadesa.
What a glorious life/songs from Kabir to unite hearts if only we have the heart to read and accept, else we will still be struggling in the ocean of life.This is beautifully mentioned in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் by Kanchi Mahaswamigal.

O SERVANT, where dost thou seek Me?
Lo! I am beside thee.
I am neither in temple nor in mosque: I am neither in Kaaba nor in Kailash:
Neither am I in rites and ceremonies, nor in Yoga and renunciation.
If thou art a true seeker, thou shalt at once see Me: thou shalt meet Me in a moment of time.
Kabîr says, "O Sadhu! God is the breath of all breath."

So long as man clamours for the I and the Mine, his works are as naught:
When all love of the I and the Mine is dead, then the work of the Lord is done.

The water-filled pitcher is placed upon water, it has water within and without.
It should not be given a name, lest it call forth the error of dualism.

IF God be within the mosque, then to whom does this world belong?
If Ram be within the image which you find upon your pilgrimage, then who is there to know what happens without?
Hari is in the East: Allah is in the West. Look within your heart, for there you will find both Karim and Ram;
All the men and women of the world are His living forms.
Kabîr is the child of Allah and of Ram: He is my Guru, He is my Pir.

Swami Vivekananda Narpani Mandram

Appoodi Adigal, one among the 63 Nayanmars is very unique. He has heard of Appar Swamigal and was so motivated by Appar’s உழவாரப்பணி (to clean temple premises wherever he visited to pray.) that Appoodi adigal started social services(in those times, social services means doing services to Siva devotees or pilgrims who visits different temples in different parts of the country, offering free food/shelters) in the name of Appar Swamigal even though he had not seen Appar in person.

The country declared Swami Vivekananda’s birthday as the National Youth day. It’s wonderful to see some motivated youth to do social service in Swami Vivekananda’s name and ideals. Few such Narpani manram is working for years under the support and blessings of Swami Virupakshananda of Chengalpat Sri Ramakrishna Mission.

In this direction, youths should start more Swami Vivekananda Narpani manrams in their villages and help the poor as real social service. As of now when I do google search on Swami Vivekananda narpani mandram I get below link first and rest are not really fitting the search results

Vegetarianism and animal's right to live

2,000 years ago, there was no proper teacher to teach Buddha on why animal sacrifices were performed says Kanchi Mahaswamigal in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் .

And so Buddhism spread across India and world, but soon Adi Shankarar and other teachers came and explained why its all part of Hinduism.(Explanations can be read in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் in detail). So in the land which gave birth to Buddhism had to once again return back to its Mother religion on Vedas as Hinduism.

Influenced by western ideas/education, now people want to talk of animal rights whenever animals are brought into any Hindu festival or rituals or traditions. But who is there to ask butchering animals’ meat and eating them to fill the stomach, is it not denying the right of animal to live? The Very basic right to live for animals is taken by these meat eaters and butchers, and no body wants to talk about animals’s right to live when people kill animals to fill their stomach?

The followers of Buddha might have stopped giving animal sacrifices meant to please devas (same way as how Zarathustra’s and its influenced mid east religions stopped) to get rain for everyone in world, including other animals to eat plants as Bhagavad Gita says. But have these followers stopped eating meat of animals? And what happened to compassion to animals which Buddha showed even for those sacrificial animals?

And also those animal rights groups always want to bring protests only when Hindus do anything with animals…what about Muslims who also remember their Holy Prophet’s sacrificial act and sacrifice goats and other animals?

This is what happens when one try to follow a religion founded by single man however holy or spiritual that man may be. For over the years of hundreds and thousands of years, the same discipline shown by that founder can not be seen in its followers. The followers over the years might also misinterpret their founder. Thus the followers damage their own religions themselves by being far off in their discipline from what the founder personally shown and lived. This might even happen to any saint or sage’s message of any religion including Hinduism. But the greatness of Hinduism is it is not founded by a single sage or saint, but on Vedas, the eternal laws which are only discovered at different times.

Hinduism asks its people why do you need to kill another life to feed your stomach and emphasizes vegetarian food leads one to better spiritual life. (Killing an animal is not same as cutting vegetables…)Also in Tamil Vedam of Thiruvkkural also same idea is mentioned, how could God’s grace be there for one who grows his meat by feeding on another meat? (Thirukkural 251)

Why Proud to be a Hindu?

Swami Vivekananda said long back, Proud to be a Hindu. But lets think what should make one proud to be Hindu.
When one reads Chicago address to parliament of world religions, one could easily get answers, why should one be proud as Hindu.
Not many knows who else spoke on the parliament, but the world even now knows of Swami Vivekananda and his message. Even for this single reason that everyone born as Hindu should be proud. While his colleagues who spoke on the same stage about their religion, have all been long lost or forgotten, Swamiji is still looked for answers by not merely Hindus but all religious people of the world. We as Hindus should be proud to have produced him.

To remember his lines,
‘I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance. We believe not only in universal toleration, but we accept all religions as true. I am proud to belong to a nation which has sheltered the persecuted and the refugees of all religions and all nations of the earth. I am proud to tell you that we have gathered in our bosom the purest remnant of the Israelites, who came to Southern India and took refuge with us in the very year in which their holy temple was shattered to pieces by Roman tyranny. I am proud to belong to the religion which has sheltered and is still fostering the remnant of the grand Zoroastrian nation.’

Every Indians (including those today might have converted to new religions) should be proud even now as people have been pouring to India as refugees from all over the world.

Materially progressed western countries are coming in large numbers, as refugees (in spiritual sense) to seek solace in the genius of India’s ancient religion and philosophies of Vedanta.
Lets not forget modern time refugees from Tibet in the north to Sri Lanka in south and all other countries as well. Even the woman writer from Bangladesh has to seek refuge in India at one time….Thus we all need to make sure that India is strong and ready to help its own people and people across the world when they need a refuge materially and spiritually.

So to be really proud of Hindu, one should read on Swami Vivekananda or தெய்வத்தின் குரல் among other works. But these two I have found as the most important ones, without reading these all the rest of reading might not give the knowledge and confidence to say ‘Be proud to be a Hindu’.
Ignoring we may learn and master and even teach the west new tricks on English science, Tech, Laws, courts, economics, medicines and feel proud of those knowledge which naturally keeps us without courage even to say am Hindu, forget to be proud of it.

But a time shall come when not only Hindus feeling proud but even people of other faiths learning Hindu philosophy once again if not already.

When one visits a Ramakrishna mission center one could find an image or picture of another religious prophet now can we imagine this in another religious place of worship to see a Hindu image or picture? Now read again the genius of Hindu religion which came through Swami Vivekananda inaugural speech in Chicago 1893 11th September and feel yourself the feelings which comes in.

Young boy’s interesting and important question

During my chat of few minutes with children of Sri Ramakrishna mission school I happened to listen to a question from a boy of 8th or 9th std.
His question had been in my mind for only few of years recently but his ability to think so young the same issue gave a pleasant surprise.
He asked ‘We are all studying in Sri Ramakrishna mission schools. Yet, why is it that, we have not got another Swami Vivekananda?’

I was surprised only because of his age, but not the question itself. Since I myself have been spending last years of life in trying to find such answers, I immediately told him to read on what Swami Vivekananda himself said about ‘education’ and whether what he mentioned is followed in schools now. I specifically told him the book ‘My Idea of Education’ Published by Advaita Ashram Mayavati for only Rs 32. This book got published only recently shows the world is slowly waking up to what Swami Vivekananda thought 100 years ago. When one reads one would come to see that all what we now have in the name of education will have to be changed completely to a new vision. Though it’s a new vision its not new to India when one looks into the history of கடிகை in Tamil nadu as how education was taught in those ancient கடிகை or kind of gurukula set up which is mentioned in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் .
We are too afraid to talk on our present education system’s failures on moral/ethical or spiritual values, as we ourselves are products of such a wrong system for over 200 years. But if one reads this book and what Swami Vivekananda mentioned then we will have to agree to his thoughts and then we will know why we still have not produced another Vivekananda.

From another point of view, it may not be possible to produce someone like Swami Vivekananda again, and then we may need another Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and all others who shaped and produced Swami Vivekananda. But we all need to agree still the country is to see someone of Swami Vivekananda’s capability to address the issues of society and religion. We should also remember how Narendra’s father stopped him from going to school as he learnt that which is not supposed to be learnt and brought the teacher to home. It was this decision by his wise father which must have had the great influence on the young mind later to be groomed by his spiritual guru Sri Ramakrishna paramahamsa.

However, it could be a point for dedicated Swamijis of Sri Ramakrishna mission schools to think over this question and come up with explanations and answers. Also it could be now the time to analyze the system/syllabus/methods of teaching if it fits what Swamiji mentioned and re-produced under ‘My idea of Education’.

American beauty and Maya and Freedom’s 1896 speech relevance

Whats the relevance between a film by some social thinkers about America’s(or perhaps many countries included) plight of affairs and Swami Vivekananda’s more than 100 year old speech on ‘Maya and Freedom’.

The message conveyed by Swamiji, had it been listened 100 years ago, then message of American beauty is not relevant. But because Swamiji’s message was not heard enough, the message makes another round of appeal even now, after 100 years it was delivered.

What prompted me to write on this was, below lines read couple of days back.
‘Modern life, starting in the West and now spreading around the world, makes a deceptive promise with cruel results.’
‘..it’s especially common in the West to see people trying desperately to look happy, to look excited. It takes time before we can see the sadness behind the smile, the desperation behind the excitement. Not that it is better to go about looking depressed and hopeless. When we are depressed, we can make ourselves feel better by forcing ourselves to smile, to be pleasant. That is therapeutic. But this ebullience covering desperation is a mask which keeps us from dealing with our situation. Even in the midst of difficulties we can find a quiet happiness by changing our
attitude and expectations. That is growth. But this show of mirth covering a wail of unhappiness
is a tragic loss of integrity.’

How identical and relevant it is with the speech on ‘Maya and Freedom’ more than 100 years ago delivered in London, 22nd October 1896.
Swamiji says clearly,

"It may be very true, but do not think of it. `Make hay while the sun shines,' as the proverb says. It is all true, it is a fact, but do not mind it. Seize the few pleasures you can, do not look at the dark side of the picture, but always towards the hopeful, the positive side." There is some truth in this, but there is also a danger. The truth is that it is a good motive power. Hope and a positive ideal are very good motive powers for our lives, but there is a certain danger in them. The danger lies in our giving up the struggle in despair. Such is the case with those who preach, "Take the world as it is; sit down as calmly and comfortably as you can and be contented with all those miseries. When you receive blows, say they are not blows but flowers; and when you are driven about like slaves, say that you are free. Day and night tell lies to others and to your own souls, because that is the only way to live happily." This is what is called practical wisdom, and never was it more prevalent in the world than in this nineteenth century; because never were harder blows hit than at the present time, never was competition keener, never were men so cruel to their fellow-men as now; and, therefore, must this consolation be offered. It is put forward in the strongest way at the present time; but it fails, as it always must fail. We cannot hide a carrion with roses; it is impossible. It would not avail long; for soon the roses would fade, and the carrion would be worse than ever before. So with our lives. We may try to cover our old and festering sores with cloths of gold, but there comes a day when the cloth of gold is removed, and the sore in all its ugliness is revealed.”

Stans and Sanskrit benefits

There are many countries which end with Stan like Pakistan, Afghanistan or one which people want to have as ‘Kurdistan’ and yet these countries have forgotten Sanskrit and have embraced religion which does not want to keep Sanskrit. In fact listening to some of their words in their languages one could easily get so many Sanskrit words….as Swami Vivekananda said or as Kanchi Mahaswamigal said that Sanskrit is the root/mother of all languages.

Also some people especially so called pure Tamil lovers, do not want to keep Sanskrit (Not knowing how those great Tamil kings looked upon Sanskrit and Tamil as their two eyes). Such people might even ask why wouldn’t God understand Tamil? Why should Sanskrit mantras be used (Detail explanation why it should be Sanskrit or what is Mantras and why a special caste for preserving all are mentioned in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் ).. if one is really interested they will turn as mentioned to தெய்வத்தின் குரல் , but if one is on a lighter note questions these, then I could ask on a lighter note, why not they ask the same to religions which have come to India from other countries using a far distant language, a foreign language to India in their prayers? Even to say ‘God is great’, they will not use the regional language but a foreign language to India? Can we ask why God wouldn’t understand if one say ‘Kadavuley Periyvar’.

In Swedish Stan means the same as in Sanskrit, the town. Quite sure there should be many languages like Swedish to mean, stan to town.

Now one could easily guess that Boston and Houston must be actually Bostan and Houstan.

The root of all these stans must be the Sanskrit root which we call in temples as ‘mulastanam’. The root/origin of seat/place, meaning God.Meaning that we are all from same one God.

Indians must make every effort to learn Sanskrit and the world too should once again learn this great language in which all great ancient wisdom is recorded. As Swami Vivekananda said, Why can’t we spend few lakhs to teach Sanskrit to all in India, irrespective of caste?

Swami Vivekananda also said, that if Buddha's teachings had been taught in Sanskrit in stead of Pali, Buddhism would have stayed a bit longer in India…how true it is, even now, Nibbana is not much known or used but it is well known under Sanskrit word as Nirvana.

In short learning Sanskrit will unite all people of the world (once again) and make us all respect each other and help each other to spiritually progress towards the same common goal.Instead of fighting over languages for narrow interests, lets see and act to set up Sanskrit learning centers for a wider benefits for all.

Lessons from Bhopal

While the lesson that we not allow the country to be a place of dumping of old unproven and inefficient managers/technologies to the country to pollute and kill innocent people there is another lesson, most important not many might be aware.

But this lesson has not fully got into our hearts but soon will take our hearts and brain as the country begins to re-discover its glories.

First I came across this in தெய்வத்தின் குரல், where Kanchi Mahaswamigal mentions on how power of mantras and yagnas can be an anti pollutant and how it can be useful to everyone not merely in India but the whole universe(Its also here I read how a British wise one tells that ‘Discovery of Vedas is more important than the discovery of Americas’)

It’s the news reported about how families keeping up vedic rituals performing regular yagnas were not harmed during that fateful accident. Check it in internet by searching for ‘Bhopal gas yagnas’.

Parthasarathy temple and Swami Vivekananda

Parthasarathy Temple in Triplicane,Chennai is sung by the Alwars thousands of years ago. Its no wonder that recently Swami Vivekananda and Bharathiyar were attracted and guided by Parthasarathy, just as how he guided Arjuna to victory.Swami Vivekananda mentions this in his letter saying that Parthasarathy is not only the sarathy for Arjuna but for all Indians to do the work ahead which Swami Vivekananda started and sought blessings for.

I wonder if there is any other temple to where Swami Vivekananda asked his friends (when he was in America) to visit and pray. Many might know that Swami Vivekananda wrote asking his friend to go and fall at Parthasarathy.

Similarly National poet Bharathiyar also spent his last days in Triplicane visiting Parthasarathy temple.

The Indian and Tamil film industry is yet to pay a real honour and respect to these youths. A film of the kind of Veerapandya Kattabomman is needed.

Indian Hospitality - Dharma chatrams

Sometime back happened to listen to an interview in TV Channel and the person is one who had returned back to India from India. He had set up star hotel and some educational institutions and is considered a successful business man to be interviewed.During the interview he mentioned, it was natural for an Indian to do in these areas as Indians are known for 'hospitality' and 'education'.

Now this is what is the alarming and dangerous situation arising in the new times...

Demanding money for food,education,medical care/justice is not the real Indian ways in its rich traditions.Indians need not learn these 'English' version of Indian hospitality/education/medical care/justice.

Dharma Chathrams(Free accomodation) and Anna Dhanam(Free meals) are the real Indian hospitality. Ayurvedic treatment is now given way to English medicines and treatment business.

Long back Mahatma Gandhi warned of these medical/education/laws&courts are getting unnecessary expensive and is robbing the ethics and moral values of society.

Chengalpat people stopped train to listen Swami Vivekananda

Since the train had to pass through Chengalpattu before reaching Chennai, and there was no official stop at Chengalpattu, the people gathered and requested the station master to stop the train at Chengalpattu station. When the request was denied, the people layed flat on the railway track and made the train stop. Swami Vivekananda delivered a speech for 10 minutes and the people were happy. This incident became the seed for the development and growth of Swamiji’s ideologies.

it strikes to me how our தெய்வ தமிழ் நாடு people have been now converted to do what is called rail roko or to stop trains.Roots of these what could be now termed as disturbing acts are actually actions in a very high spiritual thoughts of the past.

When one reads on how Chengalpattu people were spiritually thirsty and hungry to listen to words from Swami Vivekananda its really wonderful.Lets hope once again the same people will lead on the spiritual seeds sprouting again as and when it is needed in the country and world.

Lords and Namas and Namaste

For sometime been wondering why Warren Hasting, Dalhousie are given 'Lord' titles? How ignorant we are to use and how hypnotized we are? Is it not time we call these people Warren Hasting or Dalhousie without Lord?

Calling Krishna or Rama with Lord and also these people with Lord really makes us, a society still in the grips of colonial slave mind set.

Word of Namas as the Muslims use and the Namaste of Hindus is interesting. The Namas of Namaste is to say the same meaning as what Muslims mean I guess ‘to bow’. The 'te' of Namaste is to mean 'to you'. So Namas means 'bow' while Namaste means 'bow to you'. I guess because Hindus (religion of Vedas) accepts God in All, and so when they say Namaste, they really mean bow to you (God in the person to whom namaste was said/done)....while am not sure if Muslims have that concept of accepting God in All. Do they?

Nathan Naamam Namasivaya

There can't be better place than Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Naadu to write on நாதன் or Nath as mentioned in my previous posting.Very happy and blessed to write on this from the place described as Thought of it alone gives one முக்தி or liberation.(As they say, if one is born in Thiruvaarur one gets mukthi or if one dies in Kaasi, one gets mukthi while if one thinks of Thiruvannamalai one gets mukthi)
திரு ஞானசம்பந்தர் Gnanasambanthar sang, காதல் ஆகி கசிந்து கண்ணீர் மல்கி , ஓதுவார் தமை நன் நெறிக்குஉ ய்வது நாதன் நாமம் நமசிவாயவே.

The name or நாமம் of நாதன் or Nath as is used in many religions also interested for a while.
While Adinath is mentioned by Jainism, Nath is also mentioned by Sufisms,Nathan in Biblical reference also and am quite sure there are many other religions who will be using Nath/Nathan.

But all its roots must be referring as நமசிவாய வாழ்க நாதன் தாள் வாழ்க .

Ramallah,Ramadi,Rambogatan,Golgatha

These are names of places among others which have always made an interest in me.The first 3 names should have some kind of link with Ram of Ramayana.
Golgatha its the place where Christians believe Jesus Christ was crucified. The place also tells us the 'gatha' or 'gata' which must be from the Sanskrit root of 'gata' meaning the street as in 'Kaaligata' or in Swedish too 'gata' still means a street as in Rambogatan.

The word Adi or Aadi aadi in தமிழ் (அகர முதல எழுத்தெல்லாம் ஆதி பகவன் முதற்றே உலகு) means 'origin' or 'original' and interesting to see this word comes in religions like Sikhism (Adigranth) or Jainism (Adinath). And this bring another word of interest 'Nath' or in தமிழ் as நாதன் .(Will write on this on some other time.)

These are only giving some proofs to what Kanchi Mahaswamigal in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் says as உலகம் பரவிய மதம்.

More over Ram name also comes in many biblical references like Haram or Hiram.

Having read on Abraham as Christians/Jews(or as followers of Islam calls him as Ibrahim)believe that he was tested by God to sacrifice his son. (There is still a debate on who the son was, as Jews/Christians believe it was Isak while Islamic followers believe it was Ismail.)Anyway important is that both agree that he was tested and he was about to give the 'burnt offer' of his son before he was shown to 'offer' or 'sacrifice' the goat instead.

When reading on சிறுத்தொண்டர்(one in 64 Nayanmar) his only son by his own hands with the help of his wife to please a சிவனடியார் (Sivan came disguised as Sivanadiyar). I begin to wonder if the people of தமிழ் who remembers Ibrahim's test ever knew or heard of சிறுத்தொண்டர் life or his test? Tamils have heard and want to remember what a great sacrifice Abraham or Ibrahim or Abram wanted to offer or his test by God, but do they know on சிறுத்தொண்டர் or how many Tamils knows life and message of சிறுத்தொண்டர் ?

This சிறுத்தொண்டர் was not an ordinary man. Before doing this சிறுத்தொண்டர் of feeding a meal to a சிவனடியார் , he was the commander in chief of the king and had won many battlefields. It was such an act of winning victories, which made King to offer whatever his commander in chief desires and he let him go and lead spiritual life by doing service to சிவனடியார் .

Anyone who reads these lives of Abraham(his earlier name was Abram and Azar his father was an idol maker) and that of சிறுத்தொண்டர் would see the similarities of the test that both went through at different times at different places. Whats more important is that they both succeeded in their tests by GOD.

National Youth Day

Swami Vivekananda's birth day 12th January is celebrated in India as National Youth Day. An excellent tribute to the Youth's role model of India. On developing India, he said, When you are ready to sacrifice everything for the country, India will be developed. What another excellent statement.

I used to wonder, he left his physical body so young for all the youths of the country to learn lessons from his life. But is our youths learning? Definitely yes, when looking at so many Sri Ramakrishna Mission centers all over the country and those Sannyasins..but there is still a long way in achieving some of Swami Vivekananda dreams...
Especially on Education..."Open your eyes and see what a piteous cry for food is rising in the land of Bharata,proverbial for its wealth!Will your education fulfill this want? Never."
Is this not true even as we celebrate yet another day as National Youth Day. Even as we walk on roads we can see how many begging hands and voices for pennies, while we plan to send man to moon or use some technology for something other than SHARING ALL WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY...which is exactly what Swamiji questions...Its time we re-think on our educational needs and plan to change as how Swamiji wanted. He wanted something of the kind of Guru Grahavasa or Gurugula education system.We need to plan and begin this instead of thinking whether its possible in this age of computers...

Hindu Number System

The number system in use in world now is Hindu number system. But the reason why its called Arabic number system is because the Europeans learnt this number system from Arabs. Arabs had learnt this from Hindus. Presently only a few people knows this and whats more embarassing is that even in Indian schools the text books still continue to print 'Arabic Number' system. Thus a true history of this number system is denied and also a sense of pride to be a Hindu as Swami Vivekananda said is also denied for the young minds.

Its very sad on the strategy of the western so-called civilizing missions, because anyone with some interest on these can easily find that 'Hindu' number system itself had been used in many old printed books from West.

In Deivathin Kural one could read on how the Geometry had come from Sanskrit word on Geo meaning Earth..and which gives the rest of Geography, Geothermal,etc its root. In the ancient times as how the Yagnas(sacrificial fires to appease Devas) were built in proportion gave the roots to Geometry.

But today how many even wants to know all these or to bring to the children's knowledge when their minds get shaped. We want to keep these 'Arabic','Roman' number systems in our school texts, but none wants to ask who will talk of bringing 'Hindu' number system in books to its rightful place?

Moreover in Arabic, the Namas must have had its origin from Namaste. The Namaste meaning I bow to you in Vedic or Hindu sense perfectly matches as it says Divinity is in everyone. But perhaps not accepted or not practiced in other religions and so they didn't add 'te' or 'to you' and instead kept 'Namas' alone.
Even the word Al-Kithab once again confirms, is it not? When its used by Arabs to mean their Holy Koran.

Anyway sure time shall take everyone to a common understanding on these soon.Until then guess the educationists can only make themselves slave to a colonial mindsets and continue to produce such students far from Swami Vivekananda's call.

Alexander and முருகன்

தமிழ் folks have the habbit of thinking that முருகன் is a தமிழ் God and not so popular or God for rest...Well when one reads on தெய்வத்தின் குரல் , this gets a punch that முருகன் worship had taken place world over. காஞ்சி மகாஸ்வாமிகள் says, that Al - Iskander turned to become Alexander and in those places Skanda worship must have been very popular at one time.
No doubt looking at the Ved, Veta, Manisha, Ni, Samband among many other words still in practice in Skandinavian countries. Their names Skandi-navia itself gives the roots of these worships.
Happen to listen again on the account of Alexander meeting those wise Indian Hindu sages who gave a fitting reply to Alexander by stamping on the ground with their feet.
This was meant as explanation to Alexander, that he too will die and own only that much of earth after his death.These sages were also not afraid or Alexander threats and were fully liberated and made no inclinations to Alexander's invitations.
Its also interesting to note, that Macedonia, Sweden are countries among others who still have SUN in their flags in one way or another.Showing the world, their roots of religions and SUN worship.
Kaanchi Mahaswamigal continues that even Sikander is from Skander....Thus it would be too ignorant not to know that Murugan worship been a worldwide practice...and Alexander has had some roots of முருகன் worship or atleast his forefathers...

திருவம்பாவை

திருவம்பாவை (Thiruvammbavai) written by Saint Maanikkavasakar (his time period is still under discussion as he is not included in 63 Nayamars, few place him before nayanmars while few place after 63 Nayanmars, I feel his period should be before Nayanmars, anyway like any person not his period but whats his contribution thats important to us) is sung by the Tamils and foreign a like. Read in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் how this was once celebrated by people in Thailand with trimbavai and trippavai.

ஆதியும் அந்தமும் இல்லா அரும் பெரும் ஜோதியை யாம் காண
Begining less, end less great grace light we are to see - Its the reference to திருவண்ணாமலை Thiruvannamalai. This hill of fire/light of wisdom itself is said to be Shiva Linga(Linga meaning symbol, Thus Shiva's symbol)...

I think its also Maanikkavasakar who sung in Thiruvasagam தென்னாடுடைய சிவனே போற்றி எந்நாட்டவர்க்கும் இறைவா போற்றி (Hail Siva,who owns country in South and Hail he who is THE LORD to ALL COUNTRIES.)

For I still remember as a kid of less than 10 years, remember those early mornings of the village when young boys braving the December cold, carry a lamp,சேமங்கலம் (hope got it correct), sangu(this is used in many tribes of all words in different forms to show the sign of victory among others as Krishna uses his own in Maha Bharatham) and goes around the village waking up all the people..Those days are only in memory...but these fotos definitely brought up those memories...and also how Saint Maanikkavasakar's work continues over centuries upon centuries...This is the great works of great men....They continue to live forever.

Stans who preserve Sanskrit

Read in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் where Kaanchi Mahaswamigal says, that there are some தமிழ் lovers who like to rename some old Sanskrit words to what they call as தமிழ் words. And gives example as மந்த்ரி , because a மந்த்ரி keeps telling good things like மந்த்ரம் constantly and continuously to a King, he got the name as மந்த்ரி . Some people didn’t like a Sanskrit word coming into தமிழ் and so wanted to call him as அமைசர் , not realizing or with no knowledge that this அமைசர் in Tamil has come from Sanskrit word of அமாத்தியர். In Sinhala also the roots of this அமாத்தியர் can be seen for minister very clearly.
Like wise many people who have rejected what they call as ‘Idol’ and Vedas or Sanskrit still like to call their countries with Sanskrit ‘Stan’ meaning ‘seat’ I guess or place?
Indirectly or directly these people who have rejected are the ones who are preserving Sanskrit with their very own names. Like wise the holy books which say ‘Idol’s have no place in worship are actually preserving ‘Idol’s by mentioning about it in every possible places of their holy books. Great way to preserve these wonders of Sanskrit roots and Idols with love or hatred,knowing or unknowning.

Adi Shankarar Period

Many people including many Hindus have the understanding that Adi Shankarar time as in 8th century. But its not right, I may not have the knowledge to refute why its not 8th century but Kanchi Mahaswamigal from the Shankarar’s linage argues and proves it with many facts in 5th volume of தெய்வத்தின் குரல் in www.kamakoti.org The real time period o Adi Shankarar is said as more than 2000 years. Many learned Hindus themselves it may be shocking and might not even be able accept it…The proof goes to many pages with many historical and Sanskrit slogans proofs. It also shows how those ancient Indians had a beautiful and very complicated and yet very logical ways in determining of times using slogans and play of words in Sanskrit. And it’s a pity that our media has not taken this important message to world and especially to Indians. The west most, if not all always wanted to degrade Hinduism (since they abandoned Vedic religion and had converted to some other religions, they continue to have an aversion towards the mother of all religions). It’s a pity that some of our so called educated people also join in and want to say that Hinduism has nothing to offer, when it actually has everything to offer.
I really wonder when the time will come for media to act responsible and with any social sense. Ofcourse we know Albert Einstein quote, ‘Press controlled by vested interests’, but should this also happen in India? Which has had a great history of its own even before the printing was thought of in the west. Shouldn’t we take lessons from Tilak or Bharathiyar who both used press to spread the message useful to society?

Even in ‘In woods of God Realization’ Swami Rama Tirtha mentions how youth should use the media effectively to educate societies. Our schools systems is still under its colonial slavery and its no use to expect that children coming out of this ‘foreign’ system to do anything to feel proud of their religion or language or tradition, but it must be done by people who really love their country and more importantly the world, irrespective of religions. This is because as mentioned, Veda’s decide our Vedar(weather) and these vedas are preserved as now because of the work of Adi Shankarar whose arrival saw the disappearance of many so called religions out of the face of India only to take refuge in other countries(otherwise still India will be in confusion of 72 துர்மதங்கள் as mentioned by Kanchi Mahaswamigal). It’s a great duty and responsibility for everyone to celebrate Adi Shankarar birth day in great reverence and thanks giving for his contribution in mere 32 years which is unmatched in the world history for benefit of all by preserving Vedas.

The benefits of Vedas is for all, not merely for Brahmins. But its Brahmins who shall chant it for the benefit of all in the whole universe. And its not right to question why only Brahmins, can the nuclear technology be given to wrong hands? Wrong hands non disciplined might and misuse such a powerful tool to bring destruction. The same applies for Vedas to be chanted by properly trained in mind and discipline to chant it and preserve it and pass it for next generations orally. Why caste in Hinduism?

This question has been asked to me often. Reading on this in Kaanchi Mahaswamigal’s தெய்வத்தின் குரல் I got the clearest understanding on this.

It’s also a pleasant surprise when I read in Swedish Religious book for school children when it mentioned the core of its existence ‘Caste gives security and determined roles in society’.

The division of labour in ant or honey societies much appreciated by the west, but Hinduism’s caste’s definition of division of labour which actually gives security to society and gives strength to works is ridiculed. And in our own religion, ‘English/West’ educated minds are unable to understand the real reasons.

When one does not have something which is good, that does not mean one should say what the other has is bad or to be ridiculed. This is very bad social disorder which affects society’s very existence.

The caste on the other hand as still followed by films ‘cast by’ gives people their ‘individual determined role’ in society. Just as an actor/actress given a determined role in film. Play the role and do the share of contribution instead of being a victim from an outsider who mocks at the role being played for any reason.

There might have been few incidents where little exploitation might have happened, but it got blown out of proportions during foreign rule of India and till now not many corrections done to erase these out of proportion effects. What one sees, instead is that coupled with ‘Colonial education’ India’s own people calling themselves educated want to ridicule caste which actually had saved Vedas and what we call now as Hinduism in India while in rest of the world, Veda and Hinduism long got to ruins or carried away in new forms of revolutionary religions which like revolutions after revolutions give way to new religions.

Reminded of Kaanchi Mahaswamigal’s palm tree and creeper comparison with Hinduism and rest of other religions. While a creeper might grow faster and reach on top of palm tree to question why palm tree has not grown, it actually forgets that not only the palm tree has seen hundreds and thousands of such creepers, but also the very creepers gets their strength to creep on the existence and tolerance of the palm tree without which the creeper wouldn’t have grown to the top to ask the question.

Thus, Hindus caste gives society’s social security which includes the job and rest….while Hindus four stages of life as Brahmachariyam, Grahastham, Vaanaprastham and Sannyasin defines the timeperiods where one performs these works. In Brahmachariyam one learns as a student and in Grahastham one does the work and contributes to society what is learnt and passes the skill to children. In Vaanaprastham, one goes to forest with wife leaving children to carry on. While in Sannyasin, one leaves even the wife and wonders in search of God…for which one should have done all 3 earlier stages as preparations/qualifications to reach God in Sannyasin.

Thus every work of Hindus in caste is nothing but a service to God and to be taken as a division of labour in society’s needs. This is the true meaning of மக்கள் சேவை மகேசன் சேவை to see God in everyone and to perform duty as service to God whatever one may do.

Just a while ago, I read and learnt that ‘Urbi et Orbi’ in Latin means ‘To the city and the world’ – Not surprising my earlier post on ‘யாதும் உரே யாவரும் கேளிர் ’.

Maulana Jallaludin Rumi’s Masnavi and Ramana Maharshi’s Talk

The word Navi in Masnavi or Mathnavi again reminds one to think its relation to Noah or நாவியம் or as its Sanskrit meaning ‘boat’. Even in Buddhism the Hinayana and Mahayana its ‘yana’ means ‘boat’…guess all roots from Bhagavad Gita’s ‘Arjuna, Cross the ocean of Samsara with wisdom boat’?

It was few years back when I initially read on Maulana Jallaludin Rumi(Persians or people from Afghanistan would like to call him as Maulana Jallaludin Bhalki, during Mongol’s invasion his father migrated to Rum from Bhalki, so he is known by two places but his Masnavi finds its place everywhere now in world and that’s most important for everyone) it was an instant love and attraction and decided to spend time to share few of what I read to the earlier topic on Idols and Forms.

…The building of the prophets was without lust,
And accordingly its splendor ever increased.
Yea, many are the noble temples they have raised,
Though all were not named "The Most Remote Temple."
The Ka'ba, whose renown waxes greater every moment,
Owed its foundation to the piety of Abraham.
Its glory is not derived from stones and mortar,
But from being built without lust or strife.
…The "Truth," which is our real self, lies hidden within our phenomenal and visible self, and the Prophets reveal it to us.

O son, that ocean requires, as it were, a diver. 8

M.: If you are the body why do they bury the corpse after death? The

M.: So you see that you are really formless; but you are at present
identifying yourself with the body. So long as you are formful why

Idols and Noah Ship

People have asked me why Hindus worship Idols? Is it not a stone?or metal? Frankly these questions only made me to look for answers which I had never thought even though I had prayed in temples.

Finally reading on Kaanchi Mahaswamigal in www.kamakoti.org and looking also in Swami Vivekananda's teaching I got the answers and more...explanations which I am sharing as below.

Idols are only the initial steps to reach god. Idols with their form for our eyes gives a definite form which helps our mind to concentrate when we meditate or these images reminds us the Godly qualities, just like a photo does.

If Idols are kept as initial steps, the final goal is to reach God in everyone and every being, everywhere irrespective of any religion or country or language or to see no differences at all.But just ONE BEING, what Hindus call as 'Brahman' or 'Aathman'....There is lot of explanation on this in 'Talks' with Ramana Maharshi.

Another example I try to say, is just as a small girl fancies a plastic 'doll' as if its her own baby, the Hindus look upon Idol as a God in their exercises to reach GOD in everyone everywhere.

Alright having mentioned, my understanding on this, I do have my own questions, Why is those societies who have abandoned this worship(enough proof is there to say everywhere Idol worship in one way or form once happened), now still give importance to different 'statues' of their own God or saints or even their political leaders...?
Its really funny, because after saying no statues to GOD, but accepting statues of people is now seen in many countries, even countries who refuse to accept any religion...They go out and garland with flowers and give other decorations...The same philosophy which Hindus have been having for God is now in principle accepted by people who have either rejected any God or what people will call as Hindu Gods.

While writing on the idols, it also reminds me on ancient links on 'Noah ship'..Read again in தெய்வத்தின் குரல் www.kamakkoti.org that how this Noah meaning to say a boatman in Sanskrit who helps to reach other side of Samskara ocean as Hindus call it...We are all in Samskara ocean and the boatman(a boat of wisdom as mentioned in Bhagavad Gita and wise man or or guru or God) helps to sail across the ocean...It also continues to say Navy,Naval,Navigator comes from all the same root and in Tamil நாவியம் means boat...as well...All roots from Sanskrit....

Whenever I listen to this song, it pains me again what a land of temples, and வேதம் நிறைந்த Tamizh Naadu and so on…yet still there are beggers on the street and not many really want to care for those poor who are made poor by our own life styles which we want to parade as ‘civilized’.So just writing as it comes in, but something wanted to write long back...and have shared this thought with friends.

So when I had time, I compiled the Nayanmars who were from தெய்வ Thamizh Naadu and listed to my knowledge as I read in my search on internet….This is only my own understanding/collection and not necessarily the right one. Few information missing..would like to get those information and any corrections to be done.I will upload them soon.

And just as the song says,
இதை அமரர் நாடு என்று அறிந்தோம் . – This is the country of divine paradise for eternity
A time shall come for everyone of this Deiva Thamizh naadu and the world to understand these above lines as well.

சோசியல் Darwinism, மாதா பிதா குரு தெய்வம்

My experience of traveling after my experience of Swedish life was confined to colonial ‘slaves’ who are still under the slavery mindset of ‘social Darwinism’.
I first came across this word, social Darwinism in Science, Technology and Society (STS) studies in LiU. This course itself was an eye opener to my initial madness of technology/science can solve our problems. I had to study this course because I understood, technology/science will alone not solve problems….but by the end of the course it took me to a stand where I felt, science/tech may actually bring more problems…and then it took me to different learning on Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy or Swami Vivekananda or finally Deivathin Kural.

What I am trying to say is in many countries who were former slaves to colonial greedy powers, what now remains is still the scars of colonial days. And almost all the societies suffer ‘social Darwinism’. From India, Srilanka, Papua New Guinea to Rwanda all these countries suffer this mind set of ‘showing I am stronger than you’ a direct outcome of ‘survival of strongest’ or what some knows as ‘social Darwinism’. There are people who have accepted this social Darwinism is very dangerous for societies and have mentioned that it is the cause of societies to disappear from the face of earth. Yet in the former slave colonies….still this continues in all different modifications and levels. In all these countries the people’s mindset is actually not fit for social Darwinism. But because they now are enjoying what they term as ‘freedom’ from colonial masters, they want to continue practicing what colonial masters practiced and initiated them through their education and all other levels.

Its very painful when you see and you know the disease and its dangerous effect and you can’t do much. Not many can understand this either…

I wouldn’t have understood all these had I not lived in Sweden, where I never felt this mindset in my entire period. Not that I want to say there is no social problems, it may be there in different other form. But being never colonized, I guess Sweden has resisted this and continue to resist ‘social Darwinism’ at every level.

Bharathiyar’s lines தாழ்வு பிறர்க்கு என்று எண்ண தான் அழிவான் என்ற சாத்திரம் கேளாயோ ’ ‘If one thinks loss is for the other, one actually invites one’s own destruction’ is the warning to thesw...Guess this was Bharathiyar reply to social Darvinism which he must have seen in his own period.

All these can be changed only through correct education…as mentioned in ‘Deivathin Kural’ or as mentioned by Swami Vivekananda…but is our teachers listening…I just read a news, that teachers have been told to dress ‘decently’ in Deiva Thamizh Naadu, I guess that shows where we are now.

I read in Deivathin Kural, Matha to show who is Pitha, to show who is Guru, to show who is God…

When I read on Baltimore or Coimbatore or Indore or Singpore or Ullanbatore or Nishapur, or Jaipur or Bangalore or Mysore or Borobudur or the other numerous ‘ur’ s or ‘ore’ s it just reminds me of Tamil saying Yaathu ure yaavarum keylir as All are towns, All are our friends.

Its also interesting to know that Abram or Abraham comes from Ur again.

In another place a Tamil scholar of some university was mentioning in a TV talk show that all the bads in towns like Allahabad or Ahmadabad comes from ‘pathi’. This is quite clear when we know there were names of Gods in Zarathusthra who moved from Saurashtra region of India to mid east also have these names of God ending with ‘pathi’. This is no surprise as we still have the names as ‘Pasupathi’

Another name while writing comes to mind is on ‘son’ who is coming in many Scandinavian names as Anderson or Patterson and our own names like Kathireson or Murugeson. Guess there must be some kind of links…Perhaps some Tamil pundits will be able to tell what ‘son’ means?

வேதம் நிறைந்த தமிழ் நாடு,பாரதியாரின் பாபா பாட்டு மற்றும் பல வரிகள் நினைவில் இருக்க வேண்டியவை.
Each year Bharathiyar’s birthday 11th December reminds me what a man he was and what a contribution he had done in his short life. Yet it gives me sad to see that every year his birthday goes not much of notice. Every schools in Tamil Nadu and rest of the world where Tamils live should dedicate the day to celebrate and remember his works with Talks/debates and other cultural activities.
I am very happy to remember singing a Villuppaattu on Bharathiyar when in school as a kid of 11 years. Wonderful thing is that the teacher who trained us was not our school’s Tamil teacher but our English teacher who also taught religion in school. She penned so much of words on how Bharathiyar’s songs was a waking up call to those slaved by the English. I still remember the songs on Viduthalai Viduthalai or Aum Shakthi Aum…
If we don’t give the children right knowledge when their minds are young, it will be hard to teach them anything useful when they grow up with ‘English’ education.

We are now in an age where people wants to celebrate in grand scales for those in film industry or a politician who talk much on Tamil culture but nothing much done by them for this great poet who lives in every Tamil hearts.

Few years back I happened to read on Bharathiyar’s ‘Fox with the golden tail’ in chennaionline. But when I do a search now, I can’t find it. Wonder why this excellent writing of Bharathiyar in English is not seen in the internet now. Is it because he talks and simply reveals on religious conversions or is it because he talks on his own community’s pitiful and pathetic low levels of intellect and spiritual wisdom which also contributed to other religions to come and convert Veda followers to their own religions?
Wish it appears somewhere soon for us to help in understanding our own failures for others to get conversions from Vedic religion.

Also sad to see his photos without the red kumkum. Its not hard to see why, if we just know why ‘Fox with golden tail’ is difficult to get in internet as thought in above para the reason why many of recent photos of Bharathiyar shown without red kumkum gets clear.
But it’s a weak attempt to show him without his religious identity….He loved his language, country, religion yet he loved humanity and all beings for it was very clear when he said, ‘If a human goes without food, whats the purpose of this universe’. Remember he said not one Tamil or Indian or Hindu, but a human.

Even the modern film recently made on his life, did not do justice to him…with the usual ‘modern’ style of film making they had not touched anything that old films(like Kappalottiya Thamizhan or Veerapandya Kattabomman, Avvaiyar) touch.

The Lord himself has spoken about them in the Gita. When Brahma created the human species he also brought the yajnas or sacrifices into existence, bidding mortals thus: "Keep performing sacrifices. You will obtain all good fortune. May these sacrifices of yours be the cow (Kamadhenu) that grants you all you desire"

If we assume that Brahma "created humans and with them sacrifices", it is likely to be construed that he first created human beings and then sacrifices. But actually it is stated in the Gita that Prajapati created yajna along with humankind (saha-yajnah prajah srstva). Yajna is mentioned first and then praja (mankind).
Since the mantras of the Vedas are the source of creation, the vibrations produced by chanting them will bring the divine powers invested with the authority of performing certain functions. To recite such mantras at a sacrifice is like writing the address on an envelope. It is by performing homa in this way that the oblation is conveyed to the deity invoked by Agni.
The real punch from Mahaswamigal’s here an example ‘Englishmen thought up a shrewd plan. They induced other countries to start factories using machinery and fomented new, unnecessary desires among people there. And they sold lumps of coal and chalk to these countries and got in return foodgrains, cotton, etc, in abundance. In this way they brought country after country under their heel.’…’ Our country grows cotton. When our spinning mills did not prosper, the English took our cotton to Lancashire, made "nice" cloth and sold it to us, making in the process four times profit. The celestials produce rain for us from the water vapour formed from our own seas. But, unlike the English, they do not make any profit out of it (in the transaction).’

The writer had written these in Life, America’s then leading magazine in 1949, under ‘HOLY MAN’ Sri Ramana Maharshi has India’s answer to most of man’s problems.
The writer very well understands the foolishness of the ‘ Progressive intellecuals’ and that’s why he clearly identifies them and does not leave it for reader to guess. The scientists, industrialists, politicians WHO ARE THEY? The products of the MacCaulay’s education which corrupted the minds of the Indian brains from 1835.
The writer himself tells about it in another lines in the same article ‘Even India’s political life, with all its forms borrowed from Western democracy, is a series of religious ceremonies to Indian man in the street.’

Today the people of India want to take pride when their so called national newspapers write on ‘Indian democracy’. Where is Indian democracy? In truth as the writer had mentioned, so called Indian democracy is borrowed from Western Democracy since Western world lacked a proper Varna Dharma to let Kings/Shatriyas to rule they were forced to invent/discover what is termed by them as Democracy and with MacCaulay’s 1835 education policies and politics Indians ever since been hypnotized to believe that they have something called ‘Indian Democracy’.

It’s a pity as the scientists, industrialist and politicians who are termed as the progressive intellectuals are unable to understand how they had been over centuries been hypnotized to believe and accept and glorify the MacCaulay’s educational system and to force upon their next future generations. Even if these so called progressive intellectuals are trying to enjoy the new material success they have begun to enjoy because of having made themselves victims to MacCaulay’s education, the Western intellectuals if there are any should sincerely make attempt to remove this hypnotic spell upon rest of Indians. This needs to be done because Indians have to really save the world, unlike the holywood films where Americans are shown to rescue the World.
Indians with their own spiritual genius alone can save the world crisis, if we admit that there is one. And the World has to make efforts to make Indians understand that they come out of this hypnotic education which Indians have sincerely believed to help them since 1835 and continue to this day.

World which is fully aware of the dangers of such education has corrected their educations but fails to admit when it comes to India and instead want to play safely for their own narrow purposes. But by such actions world is actually bringing much disasters to its own societies. Instead, world should tell India to stick to its roots/traditions/religions/culture not only for India’s good but for its own very survival.For India with a billion population can definitely survive with its own sacrifices in millions if required, but rest of World has no chance to survive. This is what the history tells us when we look back how the Vedic Religion once practiced in all places of world have reduced to ruins but in India it continues as ever.

In the UK CBeebies targets children below the age of six. CBeebies’ basic aim is to educate and entertain the BBC’s youngest audience.

After Tilak and Bharathiyar there has never been a true son of the soil to report and use the media as how it should be used to educate its people.
There was Swami Vivekananda a one man army who conquered the world stage with his ‘Sisters and Brothers of America’ and after more than 100 years people have left his wonderful country which he described as ‘every particle of dust is sacred’ only to land up in America and rest of the world seeking material progress. Yes, people certainly have got the material progress they looked for, but have been reduced to nothing state where they don’t even have the courage to whisper what Swami Vivekananda roared as Lion of Vedanta. Well I it makes me wonder if one should become a begging Sannyaasin to roar on the Genius of India’s spirituality and its education.
Right now there is lot of happening around educating ‘young minds’ even before they turn 7 and its here where Swamijis message should actually go. But we allow foreign channels to ‘educate’ our young minds and the result is young and old are foreigners in their own lands.

When are we going to have truly a channel to tell whole world what India means to world and to Indians by the true understanding of India and not corrupted by foreign education?

There was an excellent question asked about the different kitchens kept for the wedding party and the workers who prepare the food. Do not know when the rich Indians will ever understand the meaning…well I am just reminded again and again….what Swami Vivekananda said long back…
Open your eyes and see what a piteous cry for food is rising in the land of Bharata, proverbial for its wealth! Will your education fulfill this want? Never.
Yes, just like in the above link when the American journalists reported on Sri Ramana Maharshi to in Life 30th May 1949 issue western journalists and people alike try to give their own opinions and understanding of India and its vast differences.

Indians truly educated about their rich country present their country to the world as how Swami Vivekananda did more than 100 years ago. I do not see if there is any single Channel or even newspapers reporting about it, except negative reports and its not surprising knowing that these reporters are only products of ‘hypnotic ‘education which has De-Indianiszd them for over 200 years. Wish time changes soon and we have our own channel reporting the real story.

How will it happen? It can happen only through a better education right from the school.

Degrading effect of serving others
(To Vijay) "You yourself perceive how far you have gone down by being a servant of others. Again, one finds that people with many university degrees, scholars with their vast English education, accept service under their English masters and are daily trampled under their boots. The one cause of all this is woman. They have married and set up a 'gay fair' with their wives and children. Now they cannot go back, much as they would like to. Hence all these insults and humiliations, all this suffering from slavery.

Imagine this was said Thursday, December 14, 1882. More than 125 years and still its true. (Moreover it was said to a work in Brahmo Samaj, which was actually formed to talk high of Hinduism…and this was also where Narendra was initially inclined before meeting Sri Ramakrishna. This is also a clear message to those who claim to represent Hinduism but fully educated in ‘English education’ what shall be their end…nothing but similar to Brahmo Samaj…)But we may have got used to this ‘English education’ which over these years has made us English Masters in the ‘slave’ education system. It has made to such an extent that we even want to parade it proudly about the achievement in this slavery…but never want to accept it as slavery, instead want to claim our ‘superiority’ in this slave English education which Ramakrishna Paramahamsa talked about.
We now have people groomed up in this 125 years of mental slavery to insult our own glorious past wisdom and lessons because we have now become masters in this slavery and so will not accept it as a ‘daily trampled under their boots’…today we are either trampling or get trampled as/under our own ‘masters’ who have mastered the ‘English education’ that’s talked about.
Wonder when we will ever get rid of this hypnotic spell and understand what Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa is talking here as ‘English education’.
But it must be understood by the numerous schools run by Sri Ramakrishna Mission order. Having Sri Ramakrishna name or Swami Vivekananda name for schools and yet having syllabus similar to the same ‘English education’ as referred by him would it be liked by them if they happen to visit these schools?
The great monks of this order should have a syllabus completely different from the ‘English education’ that’s referred and instead have a syllabus in a way to make students feel proud of their own religion, heritage, culture, language and make Sanskrit the compulsory language to learn for everyone and to make children to live under the direct supervision of the monks compulsorily through out their study period.

Its hard to believe, yet had to believe it when one sees it and hears it. Long back when I saw a footballer by the name Appiah from Ghana it struck me that there must be a link between the name and our names.
Later I also saw another name as Sankara in one of African countries and was again wondering the name's link to our lands.
Recently happen to work and meet one whose name is Shiva and was wondering whether the name has links to Jews Siva or Shiva(which naturally as explained earlier has its roots to our Shiva). Finally asked my friend on his name and he said that its Hindu name Shiva and he is a Hindu by birth to parents from Ghana.
He also surprised me saying there are few thousands Hindus like his family in Ghana...check it out if you look for Hindumonastryinafrica you will read more of it...
hhhmmm what a pleasant surprise in this part of the world.

Modern Gladiators?

Its no offence, but just wondering…having seen the film where those ancient slaves as Gladiators of Roman Empire to fight and met their death while the rich assembled to drink and watch these gladiators die in pain.
I am wondering who are our modern gladiators…there could be many depending on where one lives…but in our societies there are couple of modern gladiators…one colonial masters pseudo team sport called cricket players and then local but modernized actors and actresses.

Our society has much to do when it comes to basic health, clean, education and food. But neither its people nor its so called politicians have any sense of responsibilities for these basic needs, but everyone even if they lack these will stand outside the shopping complexes which have all these imported electronics items which show them these cricket/films to watch standing unmindful of the dust and beggars. Completely lost in the ‘entertainment’ which has come along with them since the colonial masters devised these ‘entertainments’ when they directly ruled the country. And since they left, they have been successfully continuing their ‘hypnotic spell’ through their education which the colonial slaves have now mastered to en extent which surpass all the expectations of ‘Mc Colay’ who when introduced this education some 200 years ago mentioned, India’s wisdom can be nothing more than a shelf of a British library…. Or something to this effect.

Ofcourse it’s a different story this approach of under estimating about India or Indians costed that once mighty British empire just like that might Roman empire or mighty rulers of Egypt empires or Persians or Mughal or Alexander to go down in history with the arrival of Mahatma Gandhi. And now their English cousins have certainly not following the English but hijacking India’s so called educated people to these ‘entertainment’ to a complete madness level which could be understood only by a few. On the contrary, had the British paid more attention to what Warren Hasting said on Bhagavad Gita been paid attention in administration of India, perhaps who knows the British might have extended their rule for few more centuries.

If cricket and films have hypnotized and hijacked the society far from its ancient skills and wisdom, there is something to be happy about in all these and that is not all the people have the luxuries to have the hypnotic education which makes to go behind all these modern gladiators.

So that’s how there was a film where they even started showing the history of cricket coming to slaves and how it had hijacked its masses. While watching that film which was literally showing cricket of 5 day match, I was wondering when is this society going to learn anything about its own glories instead of making themselves fools by making such films showing how they amidst struggles tried imitating their colonial masters and how they adopted it as an entertainer. Untill then hypnotic and hijacked gladiators will continue to entertain its own hypnotic and hijacked society.

A time shall come for people to raise the question just as in the film, at the brink of the empire collapsing the gladiator asking those have come to see the ‘entertainment’, “Are you entertained”…when people begin raise this question against these modern gladiators that day shall mark the new path for re-generation for the society to get its self free from the hypnotic spell that’s on their heads for more than 200 years.

Few days back got an email where it mentioned the link on Peru and Thiruvannamalai and it immediately reminded me on my earlier reading on the link of www.kamakoti.org

The temples built in Egypt to Mexico to Rome or Athens might now be in ruins...but still in India people are there to chant Vedas and to build any new temples and maintaining the old temple...inspite of all challenges there will be people to chant Vedas and there is no doubt and no fear.

Just to let readers know,
Veta in Swedish means 'to know' and Ved means 'fire wood' and they say 'manisha' to mean people.
In Jews, there are many names like Siva,Rani,Ruban and they also have Siva to mean a month and death ceremoney. In Vedic religion or Hinduism as its popularly known Siva symbolises 'death' of ego.

The story of Adam and Eve from Aathma and Jeeva and the pippal tree is so interesting and must be known and taught to many Indians...Guess a time shall come for that soon.

Challenge to modern science and technology

When I stood before the tall and wide Raja Gopuram of Thiruvannamalai I wondered if the modern science and technology can ever build this kind of temples and gopuram without the help of the Indians. When I mean Indians I meant the Indians who still preserve the caste system which preserves these skills of temple architecture or sculpture making or any work where skills are passed from father to son generations upon generations and not the Indians who might have mastered the modern science and technology of their colonial masters.

Even the people whose forefathers have built these wonderful temples will want to talk proud of the education which has stripped them of the glories that belong to them by the de-Indianizing and hypnotic education for more than 200 years.

There may be countries around the world, including Angur wat in Cambodia which boasts of the largest temple complex in world or any countries of the Middle East from Syria to Jordan could talk of their old temples standing tall, but in ruins.
Its again these ruins tells us that these temples built for sun or of the Gods when these countries ruled by their kings ruled the land. But even though their sizes take away our breath for a moment, can these countries ever rebuild such temples again? They have almost all have converted to new religions for even if they wish to build, they may not be able to build for the skill of temple building is broken as they don’t have the caste system which preserved these skills in society, just as how the Brahmins have preserved the Vedas and Sanskrit because of this caste system. The Swedish religious schools teach their children, Caste gives security as it gives people determined roles in society. But I wonder how many of Indians are given this wonderful truth.

"The day when, surrendering the spiritual into their hands, our countrymen would sit at the feet of the West to learn religion, that day indeed the nationality of this fallen nation will be dead and gone for good."
Long back I remember reading this and I was wondering over it again and again...for sometime I see and read in newspapers on such scenarios...
Swami Vivekananda continues,
"I believe that by this cultivation of religion and the wider diffusion of Vedanta, both this country and the West will gain enormously. To me the pursuit of politics is a secondary means in comparison with this. I will lay down my life to carry out this belief practically. If you believe in any other way of accomplishing the good of India, well, you may go on working your own way."

100 years on and our pple are having their own ways fully ignorant of Swami Vivekananda's deep understanding on accomplishing good not only to India but whole world.Heart of the world is India, and India’s heart is spiritualism. This should be always remembered by Indians and the people of world with respect and pride. Its clear to see, when in other parts of the world, Vedic religions remains are in ruins, it is still and will continue to be vibrant in India. While idol worship is only mentioned in their holy books in India idol worship continues to be stepping stones to reach the one god and to feel one god in everyone.

If the modern science and technology educated Indians can ever help it should be to help these caste system to be preserved and continued for future generations and not be fooled by the modern science and technology which had stripped other societies of caste.
People talk of modern science and technology has help many societies, but they should try to learn from those societies history that those societies lacked caste system which made the discoveries and inventions as ‘necessity’ which forced the people in those societies to look for better ways of living from their harsh climate and a lack of social order. Fortunately for Indians caste gave them a security in society and the kings ruled well when Europeans had to revolt against their kings. It’s a pity that Indians are later made to follow the ideas of west, of throwing away the royal kings. Ofcourse I don’t mean that we should have a king who can not rule well in power, but what I meant is that kings ruling countries in ancient India was what we now see in these Big Raja Gopurams or numerous temples of granite stones and big reservoirs or water tanks or preserving Devarams or songs in praise of God all of these wouldn’t have been possible without Kings and the system which helped to keep the kings in power. While the colonial masters made and created every ‘laws’ to strip those Indian kings/queens of their powers, the very same colonial masters were strengthening their kings and their queen. It was just the same tactics followed by those religious followers in destroying all the other temples wherever they invaded but making sure that their own only stone temple is kept in safe by not allowing not followers of their religion not even to enter close to the stone temple. But making sure to include a pilgrimage to their only stone temple one among the 5 pillars of their religion. Just as how in one country they should protect Royal family but destroy all other royal families, these religious followers also did to see that all stone temples should be destroyed but their own stone temple be preserved and be visited by only their followers and not by people of other religions.
And even in this stone temple, even if they may not practice caste as known to us, but they do follow the ‘clan’ and ‘tribe’ to clean their stone temples and not the other tribes are allowed to clean or enter the inner shrines…Thus we can clearly see how ‘caste’ in its form as ‘clan’ and ‘tribe’ is still used in other places and other countries for the same purpose of ‘security’ for preservation of something which is considered vital for that society.

Anyway, the challenge to modern science and technology to build another temple similar to Thiruvannamalai can it be succeeded? There may be bigger temples and larger gopuram like towers built in other parts of the world in different historical times, but they are now in ruins. Their remains can talk proud of those societies skills in their past temple building skills, but now neither they can re-produce another temple nor will they make an attempt as they are all now in a new religion. But in the land where Swami Vivekananda said, where every dust is sacred, in India we will still see that people untouched by the colonial education still preserving these skills because of the caste system and the temple building continue to give guidance and advice to future generation inspite of all external threats. For this is the land which is existing for preserving Vedas and therefore God shall see that its preserved for it also includes the land called ‘Deiva Thamizh Nadu’.

Children who keeps the flames burning

Cape of good hope, thats how those Europeans wishing to look for the hope of Good in India called the African tip.....After 9 years of my travel outside India, when I landed in Chennai and later met few children in Chengalpattu, Ramakrishna mission I felt that the children still keep the flames of good hope burning amidst the 'modernity' eroding or seeming to erode values of this land of good hope...

I am proud to belong to a nation which has sheltered the persecuted and the refugees of all religions and all nations of the earth. I am proud to tell you that we have gathered in our bosom the purest remnant of the Israelites, who came to Southern India and took refuge with us in the very year in which their holy temple was shattered to pieces by Roman tyranny. I am proud to belong to the religion which has sheltered and is still fostering the remnant of the grand Zoroastrian nation.--Swami Vivekananda on India for every Indian to feel proud and for the world to know and learn from Indians.

Mylapore Kapaleeshawarar Kovil.

Most important change I noticed was its tank or theertham full. Once it was a playground for children and youth has now been giving a fantastic view of water with ducks and all kinds of fishes enjoying their habitat..sourounded by trees on all 4 sides….

Great to see Spiritual Library but it should have more books/audio/video and other media stuffs….

Saddened to see that all paintings on the walls had been removed…it was earlier a showcase of Deiva Thamizh Naatin Chitra Kalai ….It was a delight to see those, for none in world can paint like those paintings.

Aadhi Kesavaperumal Kovil

Mylapore Chitra Kulam is attached to this temple and its believed in this kulam Perumal

Came to resque the elephant which was caught by the crocodile…It was a pleasant surprise to me when I visited it coincided with the day’s function.

Temple has got itself cleaned up a lot and it was refreshing to see from earlier times.

Maadhava Perumal Kovil where PeyAzhvar lived among other saints who are related to this temple.

Visit to this temple just took me off by surprise for its spot cleanliness and peaceful nature. Few years back, renovation had taken place and it was wonderful to see temple.

A priest here told me that I should live in India after enquiring about me.

Also saw a small spiritual library in the entrance. Hope here again it gets more space/books and other audio/video/media stuffs.

Parthasarathy Kovil Kovil

Swami Vivekananda’s letter to one of his Mylapore friend asking him to visit to the temple immediately and fall prostrate to Sri Parthasarathy..is kept on a board here on both entrances of the temple.

From Aazhvars time this temple has attracted devotion and Swami Vivekananda and Mahakavi Bharathiyar visited this temple.

I went on mid-day time and saw temple almost without much change..it was as if to visit the temple after a couple of weeks being away.

There was Annadanam getting ready on the second entrance side and I was bit late there and so didn’t have time to wait for the second round…so had to rush back.

Alarmelmanga puram Aancheneyar Mylapore with 18 feet I guess

I refer it as my school Aanchaneyar as its close to school where I studied..PSSenior Sec school…

Temple has added few more vigrahas and shifted earlier vigrahas from their places..so it looked a little difference and a bigger temple though the area is still the same.

Close to this is also my visit to PSSSS school and saw Pillayar there under Arasu tree at the entrance and met our Tamil,Chemistry,English teachers…and saw other staffs like PT, Cleaning, Attendents,office staffs identifiable after more than 16 years…leaving the school…Met the principal as well.

Tamil/Chemistry teachers went some time talking and gave an impression that old students should make it a point to visit the school and if possible to carry some books or anything to pay back. Both were extremely happy though spent few minutes with them.

Vadapazhani

It was wonderful to see lots of improvement in this temple..At the entrance water was coming to wet and clean our foots…(Wondered why this is not implemented in other temples?)

Then as I entered the floor tiles are polished and spot clean…

Meditation room was having a dim light and was A/C…

There was minor changes in vigrahas positions but otherwise it kept the same old feeling of back home through my mind.

Same old feeling of back home…except the old temple structure now houses a new image for Holy Mother and looked some old visitors still wanted to sit in this old temple’s first floor meditation hall…

Ramakrishna Mission T Nagar

This was my first visit though I lived in Chennai for 15 yeas..

It was so nice to see Children of the hostel playing under Swamiji’s watchfull eyes and later getting themselves ready for Bhajans and Arathi..

Here on another day, I also had a wonderful experience to watch and be blessed on a day of Vidyaarthi Homa and to listen to a wonderful speech by Swami Gautamanandaji.

Ramakrishna Mission Chengalpat

The most wonderful children I have met was here…Impressive discipline shown during the Bhajans and Arathi ..songs at top of their voice with full of devotion…

The boys within couple minutes while helping to get me a neem stick were showing the true hospitality by inviting me to stay for few more days…There was no motivation for these children, but simply the land’s deep rooted tradition of sincere hospitality in seeing their guest happy….I really regretted that I had to leave and felt that I should make another visit soon.

T Nagar Shopping

New multi storied shopping malls full to its capacity..jewellery shops built in multi storied complexes and still people are all full and making only moves by few inches…same for silk sarees and all other electronic.household items…definitely buying capacity has gone up…even right at the entrance to these shopping malls people are pushing their way even though the entrance is wide..people were seen queing even from the road side..

People standing and eating on the roadside their favorite dishes/fruits/ice creams…(It was unbelievable for in 2000 while in Kaaligaata when I looked at the same sight of people eating on the road and other things I never thought it will happen in Chennai).

Also visited Maayajaal a number of theatres in one complex (again importing ideas of the western/modern idea of entertainment). The ride to that along MRTS through IT express highway showed a different road in Chennai.

So can we say people in Chennai are all rich and happy now looking at the shoping malls/eating outlets/cinemas?

Oops the same old small children as young as even 5 years calling out ‘Anna anna anna…’ while in the auto waiting for traffic signal or as I find a place to walk in the crowded streets in T.Nagar I see how limbless body fully covered in the sweat/dusts of the road and under the mercy of the burning sun beggars still looking for pennies..and passers walk totally oblivious as if to say I have nothing to do with his/her state.

It only re-confirms Swami Vivekananda’s words and his identification of the roots to the problem in spite of large multi-storied complexes, buying/spending wealth, and technology to probe moon and earth…

Open your eyes and see what a piteous cry for food is rising in the land of Bharata, proverbial for its wealth! Will your education fulfill this want? Never.

And now we hear country’s brilliant brains (educated from such a failed system of western education/model) will spend millions and millions on giving unique id and they say its for better efficiency…to people who barely can meet day’s food/shelter/health..
Mahatma Said long back, 'There is enough for the needy but not enough for the Greedy' and so the blame is now on the 'lack of science and technology' and not the 'lack of hearts to share the haves with have nots'...and so the foolish act of self cheating to market science/tech and its education/admin continues...

To reach every hearts of India

Why have we still not took the message of Swami Vivekananda to every single Indian villages and children?

Sorry to say this, but still I see lot of things that should have changed since Swami Vivekananda’s life and message has not changed.

So sometimes I feel nothing, really nothing has changed and still ALL his message seems as true as ever and relevant. Yes agreed, that voices of great persons are for eternity.Yet Swami’s voice on society’s plight was said 100 years and still the society seems not to have learnt anything from his message.

Swamiji said, to spend few lakhs on learning Sanskrit…How many Sanskrit colleges are opened because of His wonderful message on learning Sanskrit and its use to our life. Considering the fact most of India ’s wisdom lives in this language which once united this land.

If American press took his ‘Sisters and Brothers of America ’ to world, shouldn’t his country press/journalists take his message in every single report they write in their every day’s report. Whenever they hear on anything which affects society, they should link the incident they report to Swamiji’s message and see how the incident could have been avoided(if it was something bad) or improved(if it was something good) or appreciated( if it was something better) or confirm(if it was best).

There are many ways to take Swamiji’s message from temple spiritual discourses to school books, to TV programs to educational films. But are we doing it.

There are many TV channels who talk of many country’s rich culture/traditions/ spiritual values..But do we have something similar to talk on Advaita philosophy in Indian TV channels?

Yes there is only hope that there are monks who have renounced their family life to take the world as their family. Its only with this hope that we can think of a better future for our generation to come.

If the followers of Swamiji’s call had with so much un-imaginable difficulties and had set up the Advaita Ashram to spread his message it shows their will and commitment which is certainly the inspiration for rest to follow. Many could read on how amidst those harsh conditions monks printed out and sent across country and world from Advaita ashram in those early days. But looking now, we need to question if during those harsh days if the monks printed out, we still have a long way to travel to give his message to those who still remain unheard and wanting to talk on other religions or other prophets.

There is nothing wrong to talk of other religions or prophets, but its important that they all take and accept that all religions are essential one and the same, as Ramakrishna Paramahamsa said different religions are only different ways to reach the same GOD.

Recently I happen to read a very important and most wonderful book ‘My Idea of Education – Swami Vivekananda’ from Advaita Ashramam https://advaitaashrama.org/publication/book-details.php?bid=1509 from where I quote

A few hundred, modernized, half-educated, and denationalized men are all that is there to show of modern English India- nothing else.

The education that you are getting now has some good points, but it has a tremendous disadvantage which is so great that the good things are all weighed down. In the first place it is not a man-making education, it is merely and entirely a negative education. A negative education, or any training that is based on negation, is worse than death.

The present system of education is all wrong. The mind is crammed with

facts before it knows how to think.

It is one of the evils of your western civilization that you are after intellectual education alone, and take no care of the heart. It only makes men ten times more selfish, and that will be your destruction.

The education that you are receiving now in schools and colleges is only making you a race of dyspeptics. You are working like machines merely, and living a jelly-fish existence.

Open your eyes and see what a piteous cry for food is rising in the land

of Bharata, proverbial for its wealth! Will your education fulfill

this want? Never.

On one side, new India is saying,' What the Western nations do is surely good, otherwise how did they become so great?' On the other side, old India is saying, 'The flash of lightening is intensely bright, but only for a moment; lookout, boys, it is dazzling your eyes. Beware!.'

Our English education has destroyed everything and left nothing in its place. Our children have lost their politeness. To talk nicely is degrading. To be reverential to one's elders is degrading. Irreverence has been the sign of liberty. It is high time that we go back to our old politeness. The reformers have nothing to give in place of what they have taken away.

My idea of education is personal contact with the teacher-gurugriha- vasa. Without the personal life of a teacher there would be no education.

Why do you not become Sanskrit scholars? Why do you not spend millions to bring Sanskrit education to all the castes of India ?

Our pedagogues are making parrots of our boys and running their brains by cramming a lot of subjects into them...Goodness gracious! What a fuss and furry about graduating and after a few days all cools down! And after all that, what is it they learn but that what religion and customs we have are all bad, and what the Westerners have are all good! At last, they cannot keep the wolf from the door! What does it matter if this higher education remains or goes?

Q. What is the defect in the present university system?

A. It is almost wholly one of defects. Why, it is nothing but a perfect machine for turning out clerks. I would even thank my stars if that we all. But no! See how men are becoming destitute of sraddha and faith. They assert that the Gita is only an interpolation, and that the Vedas are but rustic songs! They like to master every detail concerning things and nations outside of India , but if you ask them, they do not know even the names of their own forefathers up to the seventh generation, not to speak of the fourteenth!

There should be an institution to train teachers who must go about preaching religion and giving secular education to our people; they must carry both.

Unless we accept and acknowledge and attempt to correct our ways in educations and try to get these wonderful thoughts of Swami on education, not much will change in our societies. And therefore its our utmost duty that THESE THOUGHTS OF SWAMIJI ON EDUCATION SHOULD REACH ALL TEACHERS IN INDIA, for his words of wisdom are still applicable and painfully true to this day of education in the country.

We must make efforts that this book finds its place in every Indian language and in every single school and more importantly get into the blood/nerves/ brains and hearts of every Indian

Channels on TV

Have been here in Kigali for few weeks now and once again started to watch some foreign channels coming over the TV and once again began my wondering over channels in our countries.
Why is that our local channels show only about our films and cricket...or if they add anything else it will be some beauty shows or some sports of tennis in other countries...
Why is that our channels can not take some lessons from these channels which exlcusively talk on history,tribes,travels, documentries,etc...Its really surprising me, because our countries have so much of rich culture, history and places of interest and the TV could be used in a better way instead of showing pple running around trees or dancing alone...
Yes I do hear some voices that speaks to say that there are channels which talk on our spirituality...but I guess they have done more damage than what and how spirituality topic should be discussed...What I mean is to talk on Ancient glorious past from every single village and to talk on all those great saints and sages who lived and gave messages from Thiruvalluvar, to 63 Nayanmars to Kabir to Ramakrishna Paramahamsa or Ramana Maharshi or Yogaswami and the rest?
We need to bring their message either through the traditional way of spiritual discourses in temples or in TV/Films...
Yeh I also hear that their message is all the same who is to follow...thats the most important question and our purpose of life...I guess but just hope that channels do bring in such topics at some point of life....

Why Why Why?

This was the question that came up as I stood inside the Kigali Genocide memorial...its a moving experience and I really didn't actually wanted to visit...feeling it will bring my emotions down(also a feeling instead of rememering these dark histories, a better way would be to see that we have better spiritual/moral values are taught/places of such activities set up like meditation centers, or prayer halls where every religions come without fear or favor and sit and mediate or read from different religions or help the poor,destitute or orphans,disabled or help any suffering person without showing any religious/ethnic/lingistic identity but as children of ONE GOD help each other) and just as I feared tears did roll down as I was there...
But thinking why did it or any of the other genocides in world history happened...I could only get an answer as there is definitely something seriously wrong in the moral/spiritual values as taught in the society...perhaps either the moral/spiritual teaching itself is wrong or the teachers are wrong......unless this is accepted/acknowledged and corrections are made its hard to give any useful correct directions for future generations.....
Yes Jesus said LOVE IS GOD and so many other spiritual teachers have said and lived their message but as I was once telling one of my friend that always the religious founders if they meet together they will all agree that each other message all the same but it seems all the religious followers are fighting over their misinterpretations of their founders..it reminds me of what I read Homage to YogaSwami '"What have you been up to?" Yogaswami asked her rather playfully.

"I've been to the Hindu temple in the neighborhood. It was so peaceful there."

"You mean that stone temple?" asked Yogaswami laughingly. "You went to worship the stone gods in the stone temple! There is only one temple and that is the temple of yourself. And to find God you have to know this temple of yourself. There is no other temple. No one can save you!"

"What about Christ and Buddha? Can they not help us?" interjected the American lady. From her demeanor it was clear that her question was not motivated by a desire to elicit information but was rather the reaction to her wounded religious susceptibilities arising from Yogaswami's remarks."

"The Buddha and Christ saved themselves through their own efforts. Afterwards the priests got hold of the rubbish and propagated it. The priests played the fool. Each man for himself - in this spiritual business. Don't believe anyone who promises to help you. No one will help because no one can. Another may point the way but you have to do the walking."'

Einstein's word on 'Goal is to raise spiritual values' is missing in many education or if religion is taught in societies its really not from heart but from lips or as they says its superficial and has little impact or in some cases its taught in wrong ways that people begin to hate religion it

But the brighter side of Kigali is that people have accepted that such a dark history existed(not many in world would have moral courage to accept such dark history existed even) and they want to learn from it and never want this to happen to their future generations or anyone coming to see the memorial...and one could see that in how the city is changed and improving in its infrastructure or to see for me as an outsider on city cleanliness.
Many a times I had difficulties in expressing why every dust in India is sacred as Swami Vivekananda mentioned as he was about to return to India...but I guess for those who knew world dark histories that existed and when Swami Vivekananda said in Chicago, 1893 world religions of parliament 'I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance. We believe not only in universal toleration, but we accept all religions as true. I am proud to belong to a nation which has sheltered the persecuted and the refugees of all religions and all nations of the earth. I am proud to tell you that we have gathered in our bosom the purest remnant of the Israelites, who came to southern India and took refuge with us in the very year in which their holy temple was shattered to pieces by Roman tyranny. I am proud to belong to the religion which has sheltered and is still fostering the remnant of the grand Zoroastrian nation. I will quote to you, brethren, a few lines from a hymn which I remember to have repeated from my earliest boyhood, which is every day repeated by millions of human beings: "As the different streams having their sources in different places all mingle their water in the sea, so, O Lord, the different paths which men take through different tendencies, various though they appear, crooked or straight, all lead to Thee."'
These lines should express clearly why every dust in India is sacred...India needs to be strong only to protect the rest of the world with its moral/spiritual duties/responsibilities about which Swami Vivekananda spoke...
But certainly one should accept that world including India(Read on India's duty to world from Swami Vivekananda or Deivathin Kural of Kanchi Mahaswamigal) failed in stopping what should have never happened here...

Marketing Technology

Recently have been arguing with some of my friends over how our countries are being slowly and steadily geting victims of 'market' economy for Technology.As one could easily see, if there are products they need market to sell and this market is nothing but people...to sell a product a need is most of the time artificially created by the very sellers..but all these are unknown to buyers and they simply 'thank' these sellers...not known to the ill effects of these technology..
Its so sad to see especially when these people are someone who had a glorious past and whose forefathers built temples which stand tall and strong even after 1000 years...and they have many scriptures of wisdom still preserved...
Anyway..while looking at the Kigali streets and how its people hand pick and clean those gardens or with a brooms or simply a knife to cut weeds...its so wonderful just as Mahatma Gandhi adviced India's vast population not to depend on technology which will take away jobs and create other evils(environment or social) or as adviced by Kanchi Mahaswamigal to assemble infron of the temple and clean every week-ends...but I guess our people whose education is from the 'western' influence will want to have the 'technology' imported to bring machines and chemicals and polythenes and what not, all possible technology and then claim to clean our streets? not realising how much of damage we are bringing to our own and future generation....
We must realise where to have the technology and where not...and I remember during a class discussion, the Professor asked a question, 'What happens to family when it depends on technology instead of family members inside kitchen'...I quickly gave the answer as 'Break up of family', and the Professor said, 'Erosion of family'...yes the 'Technology Erodes the family and breaks it up or just that family is no more there' and thus Science,Technology and Society its start up as a discipline in western countries itself is a clear proof that they have realised to some extent the damage the technology has done on society...but just as the Professor lacked courage to write in words what she said, and instead spends millions and millions on do research...the west is never going to accept all the damage this science/technology has done...it needs a spiritual flood which shall clean the minds from its dependency on matter....untill then the marketing of science/technology will continue and the damage only spreads to the rest of the world? Is any Indians listening...for here people if they want with genius brains could turn the tide at any moment...who knows....but so far we see only that they continue to be under the 'hypnotic' education they had received for 200 years....

Deiva Thamizh Naatinile

Ever since I listened to this and ever since any incidents that pains me as it happens in Tamil Nadu, this song sung by MS Subbulakshmi comes to my mind. The song tells us how the God's divine land of Tamil Nadu( Vedam Niraintha Tamil Nadu of Bharathiyar is just as appropriate) is swayed by ignorance to a level where even insults is taken by its people as praise and glory to such a low level of ignorance the people have fallen..This is exactly what one feels each time when one reads/hears about something that really pains....but even just as the song says, Deiva Thamizh Naatinile....there are always hopeful of other news/incidents that happen and tells us that its really the God's divine land...and as in Deivatthin Kural as flowed from Kaanchi Mahaswamigal, this land even if at times gets swayed by modernism or any 'ism' it has always come out shining with double brilliance in its work of enlightening the people of world...and as he said, thats the history of Deiva Thamizh Naadu.....while explaining the greatness of Tamil Nadu, Kanchi Mahaswamigal tells how when someone migrates to another land from Tamil Nadu, they easily accept and adopt the new language and in few generations their children forget Tamil language....but when someone comes and lives in Tamil Nadu, they never forget their own language and even after many generations, they still keep speaking their own language....Tamil Nadu does not force its new arrivals its own language...it let the new arrival to live with its own glory...not just that it allows and preserves any great piece of work of the arrivals.....and he quotes how Saints Thiyagarajah's songs in Telugu is preserved by Tamil music lovers...and no doubt again Bharathiyar said it, 'Sundera Telunginil Paatisaithu' what a glorious contribution to another language by this Deiva Thamizh Naatin one of the greatest sons.

Kigali streets a lesson to learn

When I was about to come out of the airport, I was told that polythene bags are not allowed by the Rwanda customs...True to it I have been seeing roads of Kigali clean even to challenge Singapore (in the roads I have seen so far)....Its not merely the cleanliness but also the message on using paper instead of polythen...because when I went into Naakumat the 24/7 shopping center there too there was no polythene bags but instead things were packed in paper bags. This is what I was thinking why in other countries this is not done...while we talk lot on environment if we don't use papers or mud cups(like in Kaali gata) instead of plastic/polythene bags...
This also reminds me on our ways of talking a lot on child workers, and never bother to talk on child acting and making money...the worst of all is when film makers make film on the same subject of child labour using children in their films...how could they ever justify it?
Anyway our countries have lessons to learn from Kigali streets on cleanliness and there is nothing much to add now...

Couple of Months back while I happen to be in Chennai I happen to see the film...Certainly it was not my interest....and this is certainly a big surprise to many who know me from my college days...when I happen to see quite a lot...
Anyway with an interest to see what the new Tamil movie makers have to offer to Tamil audience I wanted to give a try...I knew that Tamil film industry has a talented great artists who could simply take away the audience out of this world into their screens....But after watching the movie....nearly 30% after it started I just felt that our industry really lost it rythm...of its past talented artists....what I read and heard about the movie later was much shocking to me , as pple are all in praise of this film...not surprising though....pple have fallen down and they are not aware of how they have fallen down...Now let me open up my secret which gives me the confidence to write all these....I watched this film after many years of not watching a Tamil film...I can't even rememeber when or what the last Tamil film I watched before this...so with all the expectations and to see the same story line or theme of film I was seated there....but I was shown that many years have passed and a new generation is out there....who really don't know what they are all doing and how their productions are sub standard in comparison to earlier ones...and it just reminds me of my father's own opinon when I was a kid...
